Haden...really?? There have been quite a few trade downs... your telling me we couldn't have traded down about 5 spots and still got Haden? Sure e still need DB help but that was a bit of a reach. Hope we have a strong 2nd and 3rd round!

Word out of Cleveland is that all of the offers we were getting were horrible. Heckert stayed where he was at and picked up a great player. Brown is going to be a great mentor to Haden and Wright. Its bringing back memories of Dixon and Minni for me biggrin.gif

4 picks tom. and Im excited!

Colt McCoy has short immediate accuracy because he can't throw the ball very well farther than 4 yards, which is why he'd be a great fit for Denver's offense with Josh McDaniels.  laugh.gif

Its a good thought, but they already have a QB like that.....his name is Brady Quinn biggrin.gif

Off draft topic.
I was wondering how you browns fans feel about Ray Ventrone?

Ventrone is a good ST guy, average to below average as a safety. Decent in run support and not very good in coverage.

If you are being completely honest when you say that "he has bad decision making", then you clearly have never watched him play.

The reason me, and most of the other Browns fans Ive talked to, like McCoy more is because of his short and intermediate accuracy, and his super fast release.

Clausen isnt a bad prospect, he's probably 10-15 on my big board. His immaturity is grossly exagerated. My problem with him is his slower, over the top release. I wouldnt be mad if the Browns took him, but I think we can get a more impact player in the 1st.

Pluto came out and said that the front office feels that Gocong is more of an ILB than OLB which makes me scratch my head a little. The kid was a BEAST at Cal-Poly as a DE and had (not has, he's been standing up awhile) AMAZING pass rush moves.

Gocong
Fujita
Maiava
Roth

is what I think our opening day starting LBers will be.

Jackson is great at making a ton of tackles 5 yards from the line of scrimmage, but isnt really a playmaker. I think he would be great as a 4-3 WIL LB and will get moved during the draft, possibly to get back into the first to take McCoy.

Rogers will be gone as well IMO, probably to get back into the 2nd.

So I guess I didnt stay very true to my word. Works been killing me lately.

Anyways, Mark, as painful for you as it might be the Wimbley trade was a good move. He never developed a second move to get the to QB. Once teams figured that out he wasnt really a legitimate threat off the edge. Roth played much better than him later year. Getting a 3rd for him in the deepest draft in years is great. Chances are whoever we take there would be a 2nd round player in any other draft.

Quinn...meh....Ill trust the QB guru Holmgren on that one. Hopefully he plays well enough to get that conditional pick up to a 3rd in '11.

Berry in the 1st and McCoy via trade up sounds great to me. Especially if Holmgren was serious when he compared him to Montana and Young.

Can't wait for tom. night. Im going to be getting back into collecting and will more than likely be picking one of our draft picks to go after like I did with Eric Wright.

Lets see, the Chargers cut LT and the Eagles cut Westbrook. Each team needs a veteran RB to help the young guys out. Hmmmmmmm

Berry might be there at 7 for us. Even though he's the best safety prospect since Sean Taylor, safties rarely go that high. Here's how I see it playing out as of now (barring any trades):

1. St. Louis: Claussen
2. Detroit: Suh
3: TB: McCoy
4: WAS: Bradford
5: KC: Bryant/Okung
6: SEA: Okung/Davis
7: CLE: Berry/Haden/McClain

...that being said, Berry could go to either TB, KC, or SEA...but a saftey hasnt gone in the top 5 in the past 6 or 7 years (dont quote me on that).
