I don't have a ton of trades on here, but many of you know me from SCF, where I'm a staff member with over 700 successful transactions. I'm also on eBay with over 1100 transactions and 99.9% positive. This case I purchased back in 2006 for my neighbor for over $2,000. He has lost money on it (obviously) and wants me to sell it and reinvest the money in other things. Here is the info on the product for those that are unfamiliar:
Configuration: 4 boxes per case. 1 pack per box (wooden box). 7 cards per pack.
** View images of card examples below.
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:
Packaged in a wooden box, National Treasures will include the following: Six autographs or memorabilia cards per box (at least three autographs) and one common or parallel Rookie Cards: Vince Young, Reggie Bush, Maurice Jones-Drew, Matt Leinart, Jay Cutler, Laurence Maroney, Marques Colston, Joseph Addai, Jerious Norwood, DeAngeloWilliams, Devin Hester, AJ Hawk, Mike Bell, Leon Washington, Santonio Holmes, Vernon Davis, etc. Hall of Famers: Jim Thorpe, Red Grange, Otto Graham (1st jersey cards), Dutch Clark, Johnny Unitas, Jim Brown, Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, Dan Marino, John Elway, Gale Sayers, Bart Starr, Hugh McElhenny(1st jersey cards), Joe Montana, Troy Aikman, Terry Bradshaw, Bronko Nagurski, Ernie Nevers, George Halas, Sammy Baugh, etc. Cut Signatures of Historical Figures, Presidents & Hall of Famers Prime Jumbo Swatch cards, NFL Logos, Brand Logos & Laundry Tag cards of rookies, stars and Hall of Famers. Multiple Prime Swatch cards featuring from three to six swatches of material. Combos and Trio Signature cards featuring Hall of Famers, Rookies and Super Bowl Heroes.
Now, onto the details:
6 slots per case for a total of 24 slots. Base card will be given to the highest paid slot.
Card #1 (base - given to Card #7 slot) Card #2 $20 Card #3 $30 Card #4 $40 Card #5 $60 Card #6 $80 Card #7 $120
I will videotape the break, and post on youtube. The price includes shipping (but not insurance) for all cards. If you get something nice (as most of you will) and want is insured, you can pay me after it's pulled. Payment can be made via Paypal "gift" or cash/money order.
As I usually just bust cases myself and am new to hosting group breaks, please let me know if I've left anything out or if you have suggestions. Also, if I've stepped across any TCC forum rules, please let me know. Thanks! -Ken

QUOTE(kencope @ Dec 9 2009, 03:30 PM) You obviously do this a lot on here, so let me know what is customary in terms of what % of slots to be filled before starting to post trades, collect money, etc. Thanks for the welcome. -Ken This is a little too rich for my blood. As for info about doing breaks, based on my experience in being in group brakes. Usually you should wait to collect money until the break is close to getting full to almost full. If someone still insists on paying that is up to them but let them know it might be a while before the break actually happens. Also by waiting to collect money till later, if the break falls though for some reason, you don't have the headache of doing all those refunds. In the group breaks I've been in the trades - SALES actually are usually posted shortly after the break has happened. That keeps the time the transactions are open kept to a minimum. Some members start to worry when their transactions have been open for weeks on end. For more info here are some useful guides: Group Break RequirementsThinking of joining a Group Break? There are several seasoned Group Break Hosts who could also give you some advice: Dwight (Urbanmonk), Chris (crpalmi), Brandon (SinatraKing) to name just a few.

QUOTE(kencope @ Dec 13 2009, 10:39 AM) Thought these would fill up a little quicker....... Hey Ken... It's mattdile3 from scf. I don't have much TCC experience either. Just been on a few breaks on here. But one thing I do suggest. 100% suggest actually is. For this group break. I am all for the staggered pricing. I truly believe in the $20/30/40/60/80/120 type pricing. BUT. It should be based off draft choice. This is slightly a longer process. But ultimately it is better, more fair, and will fill up the group break much quicker. Meaning this. You open up the whole case. Then either you can do it box by box. or as the whole case. If you do it box by box, it's basically 4 seperate group breaks in its own way. But I like the case format better.... Where you will have 28 (or 24 not counting the base) prices.... Staggered from the most amount of money to the smallest amount of money. Then open up the case.... and whoever spent the most money, gets first pick of all the cards in the case. 2nd pick (2nd money), gets the second choice of cards from the whole case, and so forth..... about the money costs? well that i explain here It should work. You just take the price you already had.... and every 4 picks, will still be around the same price as you had for the most expensive card per box (card 7 -$120 each, 4 of those, card 6- $80 each of the 4, etc) Maybe 1 - $130 2 - $125 3 - $115 4 - $110 (and that all adds up to $480, just as you had for the 4 $120 picks) then your second set of picks you can move down to around the $80 picks 5- $95 6- $90 7- $85 8- $80 (and that all adds up to $355, so actually $35 more then the 4 $80 slots) then third would be 9- $75 10-$70 11-$65 12-$60 and then the dropoff in price.... 13-$40 14-$35 15-$32 16-$31 17-$29 18-$26 19-$23 20-$22 21-$17 22-$16 23-$15 24-$14 that adds up to exactly $1400, the same amount of money it added up to before too.... and that even considers the last pick of the draft getting a $14 card. not bad for national treasures.... That being said. If you like this method, i'll even take the $130 and $125 picks.... I WOULD take a $120 pick in the method you have, but I'm just nervous since not ALWAYS does the best card land in the last slot. I've seen plenty of cut autos in the middle somewhere like 5 or 6. this way it doesn't matter where the card lands in the box you still get choice. Hope you like it. Because you said you were open to suggestions and I used to run some group breaks for around 4 months.... Matt
