To be fair, though, it does make more sense that those guys get to vote than all of the dead people and non-citizens that have been magically turning up in the polls now that the government claims it's illegal to ask for identification to vote. wink.gif

I need citations for "all of the dead people and non-citizens" and how it's currently, or recently been affecting voting for me to agree that it's an ID problem.

Also, I don't drive, I'm in my 30s. Why should I pay NYS for a photo id just to vote? I am registered and on the rolls and that should be enough.

Florida found 53,000 dead people, along with 2,600 "ineligible" voters on their voter registration polls. That, along with the fact that the left wants it to be illegal to check ID to vote means that anyone could walk in and claim they were any of those 54,600 voters and vote.

How will you prove that you are who you say you are? How are you going to prove that you are an American citizen qualified to vote when you register? How are the guys running the polls supposed to know you are who you say you are once you are registered to vote? Perhaps I could just walk right in and say I'm you and vote in your place?

I am not saying it should be a requirement to show an ID when you vote. Currently, in Texas, your voter registration card is enough when you actually vote and I'm fine with that. However, everyone should be required to show an ID when they go register to vote. Otherwise, there is no real way of knowing whether or not those people registering to vote are even legally eligible.

Being able to spell is a fundamental component required if one wants to be taken seriously. Especially when you're protesting because you believe English should be the "offical" language.

James, I'm afraid you're fighting a losing battle here. While these leftists are joking about a very small sampling of uneducated Americans being able to vote, they're fighting like mad to try to give that right to illegal immigrants, most of which can't even SPEAK fluent English. That kind of nonsense alone should be proof to you that you will never be able to persuade them anything they're doing is wrong.

My sincerest apologies for holding those Americans accountable for proper use of the English language. However, it is very presumptuous of you to label me as "leftist" when you know little to nothing about my political ideologies and leanings. Please be careful. I value the ability to express one's self in an articulate manner. After all, what is language? It is the verbal and visual vehicle used to express one's thoughts. If one is not going to take the time to ensure his or her thoughts are expressed properly, then why should they be taken seriously? Or at the very least, this is just sheer laziness - one attribute of which this country needs much less.

If anything, these people should be policing themselves. I don't know, something like "Hey bozo, mix in a Webster's and fix that sign; you're making us look bad."

I'd just like to point out that we're a nation built on immigrants... We had (how many?) LOTS come over from Europe in the mid to late 1800s up into the 1920s who couldn't speak a darn word of English and the nation survived and they adapted as we have. Indeed, many of them still speak their languages even though they are 3-4-5-6 generations removed.

I think Richard was mostly joking on voting requirements, lol, but you have to admit there has been a dumbing down of our populace in education (or lack thereof) because of government policies (or lack thereof).
