Back in the mid 80s I asked "why aren't there more tweeners (not face nor heel) like Roddy Piper (I remember Piper went both ways for a short time). I really got sick of good vs evil match ups. Then came along Stone Cold Steve Austin and The ROCK and they made "heels" cool in the late 90s. Since then the face/heel lines aren't as defined as the past and I thoroughly enjoy it.

Now I think it's time for a change again - and that is push the jr/cruiserweights as THE stars instead of roided up freaks like Chris Masters, HHH, etc. In the past wrestlers were supposed to be larger than life - huge chiselled bodies that a normal person couldn't attain. Well, it's not like that anymore as kids nowadays are taller and bigger than before.

Anyway...I think it's time - when Rey Mysterio becomes the CHAMP and for normal people to idolize someone their on size. Look at MMA in Japan in the last few years, the lower weight competitors now are the top draws and garner more TV ratings than the heavyweights. That's saying alot for a country that's been enamored with the David (Japanese guy) vs Golith (larger foreigner) match ups for decades.

We, as fans all love the old days of high flying WCW jrs as well as TNA X Division, should now demand that the wrestling organizations let us see what we want and that's athletes have have more normal size and height and are STARS based on their abilities. The WWE are moving in the right direction, as both Geurrero and Benoit both have been champions, now take the NEXT REALISTIC MOVE!

Although the American wrestling scence has been in a lull the past 3-4 years, I seriously think the next boom in American wrestling may be lead by Rey Mysterio followed by the cruiserweights such as Styles, Daniels, Mexican/Japanese stars, etc. I can dream...but reality would be nicer.

Another factor in this equation is that SOMEONE (govt) needs to monitor steroids and other physique enhancing drugs use in wrestling. Without monitoring the industry will continue with the freak show and ultimately continue to have alarming death rates among it's wrestlers.

I think cena and edge are back to basic clean guys...

like them or not...

there are no real heels anymore eg Iron Sheik who was never good...

It all has to do with mcmahon and his script writers...and the personalities decison to pull it off...with the mike and with their actions...

For instance I would Make kane and Big Show permanent heels... theyd just be destruction INC...

I like rey mysterio and he will be champ at wrestlemania beating whomever takes the title from Cena..Cena is in transition also as i stated on royal Rumble thread this morning...

I figure masters wins title before wrestlemania..cena loses rematch and rey rey fights for raw championship..

and then for one more time the Undetaker crushes Angle at wrestlemania and then we have a whole new batch of script..

Batista will be back in time for summer slam so ...

I heard that edge is leaving to join christian in that other outfit have you heard that?

I also heard that brett hart is on the road back... with a mask?

I love masked wrestlers they're my favorites..

Opinions and thoughts about the above commentary OR What do you think the next boom in American wrestling will incorporate?! Come on - let's talk wrestling - give me a "Hell Yeah" otherwise I'm going to have to "stomp a mudhole in you"

I totally agree w/ u...The storylines espically involving Championships are easy 2 predict these days w/ only the buff up guys winning...It would be a nice change for Rey or even some1 like Booker T or even Benoit again...Im tired of bein able to predict matches

News Update...

Angle needs surgey before wrestlemania...supposedly...

Undertaker will win title at No way Out...

Rey rey is going to Raw and Triple H going to smackdown...

Also heard Flair and Michaels will have retirement match soon...very soon...

Flair can't retire just yet -- needs $ to live the lifestyle that he enjoys plus gotta pay the ex.

Michaels is requesting for a "legends" type schedule - that is return for a couple of runs per year ala Hogan/Foley.

No word on Rey and HHH - but that move wouldn't make sense especially when Smackdowns core audience is Hispanic.

Still don't like the idea of Undertaker as Champ b/c of his light schedule.
