Got an email from ITG yesterday with this information concerning the Mask cards:
We are pained to announce an error on the backs of the Mask Men III cards. There are three different colored versions of each Masked Men III card.
The Gold version (10 of each inserted), the Silver version (100 of each inserted) and the Emerald (340 of each inserted).
Unfortunately, the Emerald version has 1/1 on the back of card and this is not the case. There are 340 of each Emerald card inserted.
We apologize profusely for this error, we strive to make errorless products and somehow this mistake slipped through the cracks.
"I guess no one is perfect" said Dr. Brian H. Price, President of In The Game, Inc. "but we sure try to be and this bothers me a great deal. I personally apologize to all collectors for this error."
Just wanted to put this out there so members know they are not 1/1s.

QUOTE(Tarasadie17 @ Apr 14 2011, 08:42 AM) I have to disagree Brian... if they are marked 1 of 1, they are 1 of 1's. There just happens to be 340 of them.... ITG Moments and Milestones.

I love how they apologize for the error, but offer no remedy for the confusion this will cause on the secondary market.

Here is what the program is going to be (per an email):
Emerald Masked Men Redemption Program
Collectors of the 2010-11 Between The Pipes are well aware of the error that was made on the back of the Emerald Masked Men cards. The Emerald Version of the Masked Men Cards was announced on the In The Game website as out of 340 of each card; however, 1/1 was printed on the back of each and every Emerald Masked Men card in error.
Even though there is nothing that we can do about this error except apologize, we want to give collectors an option to make their Emerald Masked Men cards more valuable.
To accomplish this we have created the Emerald Masked Men Redemption Program. We had two choices for this program; redeem a player's Emerald Mask Men cards for a Redemption Card of that player or redeem any Emerald Mask Men cards for a random redemption card ( a program similar to the He Shoots He Saves Program). We decided to poll collectors at the Spring Expo to determine which way to go but collectors were split down the middle and no clear-cut suggestion could be formed.
Then one collector breaking Between The Pipes at our booth suggested to Dr. Price that we should try and do both, that is the suggestion we are going with.
So here is the Emerald Masked Men Redemption Program.
Program One:
Send in 17 Emerald Mask Men Cards for any individual player listed below and receive a Masked Men Game-Used Memorabilia card numbered to ten of the player you have redeemed.
Program One Checklist
Cam Ward Carey Price Corey Crawford Dwayne Roloson Henrik Lundqvist Ilya Bryzgalov James Reimer Jaroslav Halak Jimmy Howard Marc-Andre Fleury Martin Brodeur Michal Neuvirth Miikka Kiprusoff Pekka Rinne Rick DiPietro Roberto Luongo Ryan Miller Semyon Varlamov Sergei Bobrovsky Tim Thomas
Program Two:
Send in any 17 Emerald Mask Men Cards and receive a random Masked Men Game-Used Memorabilia card numbered to twenty from the players listed below. This program is similar to the He Shoots He Saves program as the redemption card is random from the list below.
Program Two Checklist
Alex Aluld Andrew Raycroft Antero Niittymaki Antti Niemi Brent Johnson Brian Boucher Brian Elliott Chris Mason Cory Schneider Craig Anderson Curtis McElhinney Dan Ellis Devan Dubnyk Jason LaBarbera Jean-Sebastien Giguere Johan Hedberg Jonas Enroth Jonas Hiller Jonathan Bernier Jonathan Quick Kari Lehtonen Marty Turco Mathieu Garon Niklas Backstrom Ondrej Pavelec Pascal Leclaire Patrick Lalime Peter Budaj Tomas Vokoun Tuukka Rask
There was never supposed to be any 1/1s in the Masked Men insert set, none were produced. We learned of the error the day before the product's release. We immediately sent out a Newsletter, posted the information on our website, Dr. Price blogged the information, we went on all the hockey forums, Beckett and sent emails out to all our direct dealers and distributors so that collectors were informed of the error as soon as possible.
Again, we realize that this program does not make up for the error but we wanted to give collectors other options for their Emerald Masked Men Cards.
All the information on the program will be outlined on the 2010-11 Between The Pipes Product Page under a link entitled Emerald Masked Men Redemption Program. This Emerald Masked Men Redemption Program will expire on April 30, 2012.
Sounds to me like if you have 1 or 2 you might be better off either selling them or trying to buy more. That is ridiculous that you have to have 17 of them to redeem them.
