Today was the bi-annual big card show here in Nashville. It fills up two gyms at a local school, and vendors come from all over the region. I went with a bunch of cards to try to sell, and with the hopes of buying my first Gretzky, Crosby or McDavid autograph. Unfortunately, there was not much hockey there at all. There was some to look through, but no vendors dedicated to hockey like you see for the other big 3 sports. Still was a productive day, though. I decided against buying any boxes, as I saw mostly newer boxes, and I just wasn't feeling like gambling today I guess.

I'm most happy that I managed to sell an entire shoe box of traders. I had to package in a couple of my nicer Werenski cards, but I'm happy overall with the sale. Also sold one of my Pettersson Young Guns to another collector there. He got the better of the deal, but still I'm happy not to have to go through eBay and he was a nice guy.

In the whole dang show, not one vendor had a Gretzky, Crosby, or McDavid autograph for sale mad.gif

But I did get these singles. Enjoy!

Marody is the last 18/19 Young Guns I needed for the set. Mike, if you read this, there were NOT many Leafs at all!

Happy with the Turgeon. Bought the Svechnikov on impulse. It's available.

Paid $20 for the Zetterberg and Primeau as a package. Happy with that. I didn't have anything Primeau and the Zetterberg is only my second auto card of him. Paid too much for the Taylor Hall. I didn't check eBay for sale value and I guess his stuff is really down, but he's still one of my favorite players. The OEL is awesome too. I've always like him.

And finally, this was probably the best deal I got all day...

It's not a player or team that I collect, but it's just a great looking card, so out of curiosity I asked what he wanted. When he said $20 it was a no brainer. Can't decide whether to keep or flip. For now it's on display in place of the Werenski booklet I sold.

And there you have it! Thanks for the look, and best of luck in your breaks/trades/deals.

Thanks for the comments guys. I had a good time. Spent a good few hours looking through stuff and hunting for gems.

Just as an update, I listed the Hertl Mega Patch on FeeBay and got my asking price of $75. That comes close to paying for the rest of the PC stuff I got!

Are there card shows in your guys' area? I have been down on buying boxes lately, and might have had even more fun searching for bargains at the show. Curious what you guys like more.
