Collector Zone _ News and Announcements _ Web Programmers: Join the Team!

Posted by: bob_TCC Nov 17 2006, 06:43 PM

If you have experience in HTML, PHP and mySQL, we'd like to hear from you!

As TradingCardCentral.com and OpenChecklist.com continue to grow and expand, there are a number of exciting updates planned for both sites as well as for the interaction between the sites.

So, if you'd like to be involved in those areas and already have the web programming skills that are required, this is your chance to help build an extensive set of tools to support collectors!

If you're interested and are qualified, please send me a PM to discuss the details further.

Thanks,

-Bob

That's about how much HTML I know. Enough to work on my own website (Need to majorly update the dang thing), but not enough to solve life's problems. I know the answer is 42 but I don't know how to apply it to a website. laugh.gif

Recently I've tried figuring out CSS for my website, mostly to be able to update without having to change every single page. Unfortunately I need a 'CSS book for Dummies (who need another Dummies book for this one)' My biggest problem with it is trying to figure out how to convert my old pages. I understand it is easier just to start from scratch but I don't really want to do that. Back in the early 80s I thought I was hot stuff because I self taught myself "BASIC" (and Apple Basic) and could get a PC to count to 10. A few short years later I was left back in the stone age with Fred and Wilma.

Unfortunately none with php. mysql was very basic, only one course because it was required and another because the teacher was far, and taught a well run course. It was also more of a Major elective requirement as well.

Just putting myself out there as a backup plan. My skills really pertain in hardware, and networking as compared to programming. If we were in a more real situation (hands on), i would be able to run, setup, and secure most network topologies , virus and spyware removal, hardware update and repair, network diagnostics, etc. Another of my final projects was to walk into a room of 12 computers (a basic lan) and make it work. There could be simple problems such as splicing a new cat 5 cable, to a virus blocking network, to a dead nic, to what ever...im rambling, hahaa
j

ps

we even had to learn token-ring topology......wow
