Some box ideas:

09/10 Black Diamond is out now. $80-$90 depending on where we get it

09/10 Collectors Choice is due out shortly. I'm certainly not interested (no hits, but there are stickers!) but I wanted to mention it

Two more products with release dates later this month: SPx and Trilogy. As usual, we can wait but we run the risk of release delays postponing our break. Expect $100 for SPx and $150 for Trilogy. SPx is probably more likely this month as it's scheduled a week sooner than Trilogy.

So if you aim for $320 in total boxes, and we do Black Diamond and SPx, that'll leave $130-$140 for the rest.

Good options to fill the rest would be

Why don't a few people use that list, to come up with some options. We can have a "if SPx" releases choice and an "if SPx doesn't come out" backup.

Given that we haven't heard from Mike in a while, I'm happy to entertain other options. I've sent him an e-mail, so he may be able to get in touch that way.

Is there enough interest for other people to pick up Mike's 3 spots? Should we proceed with 13 or 14 (presuming Mike's Maple Leafs spot gets picked up by Marco?)

I'm open to suggestions. I do agree that it's better to get something started than wait until February. We can always give Mike the right to get his old teams back next month if he gets things squared away.

Also, just a really quick reminder (since it seems like half of the Flames and Leafs rosters have turned over in the last hour)

All cards go to the person who owns the team listed on the card. So for instance, a card picturing Tom Poti as an Islander but listing him in print as a Ranger would go to the owner of the Rangers. It would not go to me as the owner of his current team, the Capitals.

So Phaneuf cards will stay with the Flames, JS Giguere will stay with the Ducks, Jokinen with the Flames or Panthers, etc.

As a note on when we're drafting:

I'm still waiting for tracking info on the packages. Often, when a package ships on Monday, it will arrive on Wednesday.

My strong preference is to break on Wednesday if possible. It would be at our usual 9pm EST time.

If the boxes don't arrive in time, or if everyone else is booked on Wednesday, then Thursday at 9:30 pm EST is the next best choice.

Does Wednesday work for folks (assuming the boxes arrive) ?

Oh I know.. it'll be a close one this year. Howard is pretty much single handedly keeping the Wings in the playoffs and is team MVP so far so I'm hoping he gets it (plus my The Cup Masterpieces Printing Plate will go up in value for me to sell. lol)

Yeah, definitely the best Stars month we've had in a while. And more than a few Modano base too.

Everyone got at least one hit this month, and all the people with multiple slots got multiple hits, so from that perspective we didn't do too bad. Now if only we could upgrade the players on a few people's hits, we'd have been perfect.

Oh well, here's hoping next month is even better!

Trilogy and S2 would be a great core to a break. It's about $215 total, leaving us $100+ to pick up some variety. I'm more than happy to do that if folks are game.

Next up on the release calendar are Champs and SPGU, neither of which would be out in time. And the recently released Heroes and Prospects just wouldn't be possible for me to collate all the prospects for everyone (which is too bad, because the product looks pretty nice)

The world went crazy around here. I've been out twice, in short trips, since last Friday. We're supposed to get another foot of snow today.

The post offices have been closed the last two days, and that will probably continue for the next two as well. So please be patient.

Just as bad here Mark. Most of our two lane secondary roads are now one lane roads, it is really strange. The main highways are clear but the city is completely a mess here. Roads still have 2-3 inches of ice patch and slush in some areas, in others they are clear. Will be even worse depending on how this storm hits later today and overnight.
