Is there a time of the year that you find yourself spending alot more time on your collecting hobby? If so, when is that time and is there something particular that makes it your busiest time (e.g., weather, the sport you collect, etc.)?

Winter months, not as much to do outside, and I find it fun to curl up in front of the TV and sort a box of cards during a hockey or football game. Busiest in the winter as these are both fall and winter sports that I collect.

Winter is also my busiest hobby time.....

By Winter, do you guys mean December through February or more like January through March?

That's my category as well.

Although, I do spend less time during July and August as we go on vacations, camping, etc.

I spend more time from January thru March going thru my cards. But for me the fall season is it seems to be there are more card shows around.

January through April for sorting.

I tend to do some extra christmas shopping for myself .. then spend some of the short days in Jan and Feb doing the extra sorting.

I also find the short days of winder depressing - both leaving/comming home in the dark and Christmas has already come and gone. being home with a warm drink (and maybe a little extra in it) and a stack of cards cheers me up.

Sometimes, on those winter nights, it's nice to stand by the window looking out, with a hot cup of cider in hand, the house lights off, and watching the snow fall while listening to "The Cloud" by Jerry Goldsmith (ST:TMP).

Back when I was just collecting...it was more of a seasonal thing with me....football during the fall and winter months and baseball during the spring and summer months....now that I am more involved in the hobby both personally and through this site I think it's become a year round hobby for me.

Well for buying auctions if you visit the steals or mail days threads its all year round. But for trading it has to be the summer months because all the traders are out of school etc. Plus the boards seems more active.
Though the winter months as touched on by everyone else, is the best time to sit by the computer in a toasty house drinking my half coffee/hot chocolate
