Well to be honest I dont collect much newer product. The dealer who used to be on Parkway East who has the shop is in downtown Gadsden. Tim and his wife Debbie run that. I do miss the old shows they had every other weekend in Atlanta and a good bit of hockey would show up. But for me collectoing primarily Jari Kurri, Andy Moog, some Gretzky and Atlanta Knights stuff it it werent for eBay and sites like this...Id be doomed.

First off Marino, I can relate I live Northeast of you in Gadsden, AL the hockey mecca of Alabama (still rolling my eyes)...

Back in the early 1990's I was one of the biggest hockey collectors in the southeast US but got sick and tired of not being able to get product (alot of this was prior to the internet). When I moved to WV it was just as bad and sold off a ton of my collection for peanuts (sigh to have it all back)...

I was fortunate to have 4 sticks in my collection and at one time had a Jersey. The Jersey was a Hershey Bears gamer from the early 1990's. Got it off an auction through Sports Collectors Digest back in 95 paid right at $100. I sold it back in 2003 on eBay for like $250.

All my sticks were from players of the defunct Atlanta Knights. Two I bought directly from the team at games for like $20 each. One was obtained when a buddy of mine talked a team official out of one. The last I got at morning team practice out of a trash can. I still have my sticks as its a fond reminder of the years I lived in Atlanta and was there for "Knight time at the Omni."

Hockey is tough here in the South...there used to be a few great dealers of hockey in Atlanta but that was forever ago and the card business has changed so much.
