*Caution* with GAI Authenticated items......
Yesterday I was talking with a dealer Ive dealt with for over 6-7 years. To make a long story short. GAI certified stuff is not to be fully trusted. I was told GAI certificates and matching holograms can be purchased if you know the right people. To prove his point he told he he could get me a Mickey Mantle/Willie Mays dual auto 8x10 for $75 certified by GAI.
Therefore, always cross reference the GAI serial number with there online database which can be found at
http://www.globalauthentics.com/certcheck/...ge.asp?c=473289Additionally that does not guarantee the auto in question is authentic. it only means it was indeed authenticated by someone at GAI and the holo and cert was not purchased on the black market and added to the item.
After doing some digging online, it turns out GAI may not be to trustworthy even if the auto does register in their database... Here are some links and you decide.
Use extreme CAUTION when buying GAI items.....
