Collector Zone _ Group Box Breaks _ The OFFICIAL TCC April Baseball Group Box Break

Here's the thread for the April 2008 OFFICIAL TCC Baseball Group Box Break.
Here is a list of teams and the members who held them in the March
I will make adjustments to this list if teams change, and as people verify with me that they want to be in the April break, and as they pay for their teams.
Those who participated last month have first dibs at renewing their team purchase or choosing another team. So, if you participated in the March break, let me know what you would like to do.
Here are the rules:
Cost: $30--this covers the cost of the boxes and the shipping and supply costs.
The boxes we break will depend on member input and how much money we get. The more members, the more money, the more boxes (or the more higher end the boxes can be).
You can buy as many teams as you want, the first is $30 and each additional team is $25.
How the remaining teams will be distributed will depend on the number of teams left. Once that is determined we can discuss again how those teams will be distributed. Generally we just random off cards from those teams.
Here are some "decision rules," so there is no confusion.
If a card features more than one player from different teams, then there will be a random drawing between the owners of the teams featured on the card. The owner who is chosen by the random drawing will receive the card.
If a card features a player in a different jersey than the team labels on the card, the card will go to the team of the jersey the player is in.
Game used and auto cards from teams who are not chosen during a particular month will be randomly awarded amongst all members of the break.
If a card features a player in a college uniform, it will be awarded to the team the player was drafted by.
If a card features a player in a minor league uniform, it will go to the team that the minor league club is an affiliate of.
The rest of the cards that are from teams who are not chosen during a particular month will be randomly distributed amongst all participants in the break.

08 TTT was pretty weak from the boxes I have seen. I seen some one said Finest...Have not seen any 09 opened. 09 topps jumbo was nice last month but I think we all got a all the base we wanted from that. The Box of spectum that I got was kind of weak but still is something new for the group. I am cool with what every we do. We can do 08 A&G

I think 09 Finest looks like junk. The checklist is weak and I'm just very disappointed with it. I didn't think Spectrum looked very good either. Everything is just completely watered down. It looks like the best card in 09 Spectrum is a Kim Kardashian auto. She's got a very famous behind, but no thanks on that being the best auto to get.
I'm telling you, it's getting to the point where the products with the best possible hits are pre-2007.

We don't have that much room in the budget. What about something like an old 05 DLP box? There is Classics and Leather and Lumber? Those were good products. The Leather and Lumber comes with a guaranteed leather or wood cut auto in it.

What? I didn't check in? Shame on me. Back in, yea for both Os and Nats. O's are doing OK (not too shabby against the Yanks) on the other hand the Nats....well I'll wear my red proudly but shake my head at the lopsided scoreboard. I hope they aren't trying to pull a 1988 Orioles or a '62 Mets.

Spectrum has a few nice autos...only thing is they are case hits 
. I still think 08 TTT is filled with a bunch of junk rookie and prospect autos. Only think I have seen that was nice out of 08 is yankee cards .

Shawn called to say that he could get us a case of 07 Exquisite Rookies for $550. That's five boxes with 6 hits and one base card per box. So, 30 hits total and 5 base cards.
Let me know if this is something you'd want to do. I need to know pretty quickly, so he can get the order in.

That is a sweet deal. I think that would be hard to turn down? Would we have the money to do that...I think we would be short. If we need more funds LMK and I'll pick up an other team.

maple19 has rejoined and taken the Rockies. jabash has been icognito for a while now. He's no longer updating transactions and hardly comes on TCC. So, I'm not sure he's going to be in. If pavi39 verifies and pays we will have enough to do the case break.

That puts us at 120 for something else now? What should we do? How about 09 POH and 08 Heroes...both boxes cost around 60 each. Or maybe 08 Co-signers ($70) and 07 Elements ($50) or 07 Artifacts ($50) since we have not done 08 Co-singers.

Boxes have been ordered and paid for. Shawn couldn't match the Blowout prices on the extra two boxes, so he told me to just order them from there. I thought that was a VERY honest thing for him to do.
So, he's sending the Exiquisite Rookies case and it should be here on Wednesday. I don't have a confirmation on the Blowout boxes yet, but as soon as I do, I will post it.
I can't wait!!! I feel something good this month.

2. We can just buy some more boxes and do a three part break this month.

Blackjack makes a good point about no rollover that just confuses things and starts arguments that start like "you didn't pay fro this month" "Yes I did, I paid last month" "NO you didn't"....etc...

Yep, the case is here. I popped the top to make sure everything was right inside. All the boxes have sequential serial numbers. Starts with one ending in 330.

I agree...I got out bidded on one wiht hamilton #2...At first I didn't know it was a dual 
,,,TThe dual like thie one #1/2 is on ebay right now.
I wish the hamilton was in a Ranger uni. Maple got a few nice hits this month. Hope the other boxes can bring some nice hits for the other members in the group.

Since a few ppl wanted to do finest and 09 looks to be trash this year....08 and 07 has redemptions that are no long good then why not 06 finest??? That box runs aroung 100. Plus ever team has hits from what I can see.

Hey Jeremy I know we talk about doing 2008 TTT...I seen a card from that product today and it made me thing what we would do on it. Not sure if it has came up yet or not...I don't think it has most of the Triples, Quads, and so on was an even match like Mets/Sox/Yanks or 2 Angles and 2 D backs.
What would we do on this card
I know it would be between Bob and myself. When the group first started most like it would have went to bob since he has not had a blow out month and card like this went to what ever member had the least ammont of hits. Now that we do random.org and it being a triple thats uneven would it be between bob and me or bob, me and me since 2 of the three are yankees. Also if its 50/50 between me and bob bc its yankees and pirates...what if it had Ryan on it in the place of Mantle or Dimaggio...And it was Rangers/Yanks/Pirates Same 2 members but 3 teams not just 2? If that was just me and bob that would be unfair since I paid for 2 spots to bobs one.

On a low end card its not that big of a deal. But I monster like that could start up something.

I just saw the video of the case break. That was awesome! 1/1 and 2/2 plus the Metcalf, Hamilton and Upton cards! Very nice. I do have a question: Who got the Miller/Owings card? I did not see it randomized off in the video.

What would we do on this card
I know it would be between Bob and myself. When the group first started most like it would have went to bob since he has not had a blow out month and card like this went to what ever member had the least ammont of hits. Now that we do random.org and it being a triple thats uneven would it be between bob and me or bob, me and me since 2 of the three are yankees. Also if its 50/50 between me and bob bc its yankees and pirates...what if it had Ryan on it in the place of Mantle or Dimaggio...And it was Rangers/Yanks/Pirates Same 2 members but 3 teams not just 2? If that was just me and bob that would be unfair since I paid for 2 spots to bobs one.

The way I think it should be handled is based on teams purchased. So, in your first scenario, with it being Yankees-Pirates-Yankees, it should go 50/50. You paid the same amount for your Yankees that Bob paid for his Pirates, so the chances should be equal.
In the second scenario with Rangers-Pirates-Yankees, you would have two chances in the drawing to Bob's one chance because you paid for two of the teams and he only paid for one. It wouldn't be any different than if I had bought the Rangers and you bought the Yankees and he bought the Pirates. If there's three teams then whoever bought EACH of those teams should be in the drawing, even if that means one person bought two teams and they get two chances.

O cool thanks. I know the extra hits was per member and not spots so didn't know about a card like that. Some groups would have said it would me yankees bc Dimaggio was the first on that card. How I use to do it is what every team had the least amount of hit would have got it since all ppl are big players (which isn't the fairest think to do). If it was a Big star and to rookies/no name ppl I woulld have gave it to the team the star played for since the person made the card a nice hit.
Like on the Jeter Dual...If delsove wasn't on the yankees...I would have gave it to the yankees since Jeter is what made the card sweet.
Just how I look at it.

I put in an order with Shawn for 4 boxes of 05 Diamond Kings. 2 for the break and 2 for me.
He said they should go out Monday. It usually takes two to three days for his stuff to arrive, so expect the last installment of our break to take place later this week.

I've run into a snag.
I've been looking at buying a new truck for several months now. My wife and I were planning to drive about an hour and a half away tomorrow afternoon to check out a couple of dealerships that have some trucks we saw and liked online. I've just got off the phone with another dealership that's about 2 hours from here that has three trucks I want to look at. That means, were are pretty much going to be gone all day. Not to mention since we are headed that way, we're going to catch the Ranger game tomorrow night.
So, that means we need to push the break until Sunday, if that's alright. I'll be around Sunday after church, so if you guys can check in around 3pm, we could do this then.

whats the chances on doing an other case break next month? Seems like more members perfer to do that the odd boxes. I think this was the biggest month we had(as far as team not taken) With the 3 part break of april would push back may some. So just look for ideas on what to do for may.
