Got two bigish packages both from sportlots auctions one was a 57 card lot of 1972 Topps Baseball and the other was actually 3 auctions from one seller which combined includes 9 1970/71 Kelloggs Football and Baseball, mostly baseball and a few are cracked with very noticeable damage (they were like that in the auction so it was a pre-sale thing).
I'll list the 1972 Topps Baseball: I'll list just the numbers to save some space (man for a second there I thought I could still smell the bubble gum)
5, 8, 11, 13, 15, 19, 22, 25, 30, 36, 42, 47, 50, 55, 59, 61, 70, 73, 76, 77, 84, 86, 90, 91, 92, 94, 95, 97, 104, 110, 113, 114, 115, 116, 123, 127, 152, 153, 155 (really warped with water damage), 157, 160, 165, 174, 175, 193 (another water warped card, but not as bad), 202, 211, 212,228,254, 257, 260, 262, 272, 398, 401, 411
OK now with the big variety "pack":
HOCKEY
1970-71 Topps:
17 Pat Stapleton Black Hawks
116 Wayne Maki Canucks
FOOTBALL
1954 Bowman 45 Bob Thomason Eagles
1963 Topps
18 Jim Ray Smith Browns
101 Jerry Reichow Vikings
105 Ed Sharockman Vikings
106 Rip Hawkins Vikings
1970 Kellogg's
36 David Grayson Raiders
38 Deacon Jones Rams
56 Tommy Nobis Falcons
At first I thought the Deacon Jones card was damaged, but it is just the way the "sportflicks" effect works on that card, most of the "3-D" Kellogg's cards from the 60s/70s were just blurry backgrounds that gave the illusion of 3-D very few of them I recall doing the "picflix" thing. Pretty cool the Nobis card does a little flix background action also.
BASEBALL
1951 Bowman 64 Bill Werle Pirates
1952 Bowman 74 Wes Westrum NY Giants
1952 Topps 186 Walt Masterson Red Sox
1953 Red Man No Tab - NL 2 Bobby Adams Reds - lots of creasing fair to good.
1955 Bowman 279 Chico Fernandez Brooklyn Dodgers
1956 Topps
2 Warren Giles President National League (It would be interesting to see an uncut sheet of this part of the print run because the back is upside-down from the front on this card)
175 Del Crandall Milwaukee Braves
1963 Jell-O 46 Norm Cash Tigers
1963 Topps 409 Roy Face Pirates (back has some red marking that looks like someone had the card priced at $11.00)
1970 Kellogg's
70 Wally Bunker Royals
73 Denny McLain Tigers
1971 Kellogg's - Here is where we see the damaged ones. At one point I swore to myself I would not get any "cracked" Kellogg's cards, but the desire to have a specific card sometimes outweighs the need for perfect condition.
15 Frank Robinson Orioles - Where to begin? The back shows some ware and is pretty good but the front it the worst of this bunch. The bottom left corner has a good portion of the front completely removed there is a large crack on the bottom center to right, the side edges have lots of "glass spider" cracks and there is a huge honking crack that runs across Frank's cap bill the whites out (due to the loose plastic separated from the paper of the card) about 1/2" wide across the entire width of the card.
61 Billy Williams Cubs - lots of long cracks, light plastic "lifting" across his shoulder the width of the card thin lifting but light and across the top of his cap across the width of the card. Again the lifting is light but this one is wide. Back is OK.
63 Jim Northrup Tigers - Back apparently had some of those small "grocery" price stickers in a couple of places and there is some blue pen ink top left over his headshot that looks like it says "R.M.". Front seems to be the best of this 5 card bunch. At first looks like there is nothing wrong but has some light vertical scrape markings.
65 Pete Rose Reds - Back has some typical corner ware like the others and is OK. Front looks pretty good again at first glance appears to be undamged, almost better than the Northrup card, but has a hairline crack along the width of the card at the bottom of the border.
72 Nate Colbert Padres - Back typical of this batch no serious problems. Front a couple of light cracks about middle of his abdomen/ribs a couple of worse cracks along the brim of his had and bottom of the red star and through the top of the red star.
1972 Kellogg's 32 Bud Harrelson Mets - Overall condition of this card is excellent, but major warping. I seem to have the error version that has his lifetime Hits as 634.
