I ended up selling most of the cards to cover most of the box costs. I was really just looking to build the base set. I did however hang on to the Taiwan Jones. I haven't decided what I'm doing with it yet. I'll be in touch if I decide to move it.

Every year I put together the base set of Topps football. Usually I accomplish this by buying two jumbo boxes. I've been doing this since 2006 and up until this break I had never hit a Rookie Premiere auto. Here are the highlights from my break:

Some of the cards had corners that were damage pretty badly. As a result I wasn't able to complete the base set from my two boxes. I went to my LCS to purchase four more jumbo packs. In those four packs I pulled a Rookie Red Zone auto (unfortunatley not one of the big name rookies) and another Emmanuel Sanders game day auto. Two autos in four packs. Not bad.

All-in-all I would say this was a pretty fun break. It seems that Topps has a bit of a coalition issue. Neither of my boxes had any gold parallels but every pack had a Bowman mini. None of the four packs I bought at the LCS had a bowman mini but they all had gold parallels. I'm pretty happy with this break.

A few years ago when I was running the basketball card box break group here at TCC I pulled this card out of one of our Ultimate boxes. Unfortunately I did not have the Bulls and had to send the card off to its new owner.

At this point I've got enough PayPal put together to buy the card and would prefer to send the money to someone here at TCC than some random guy on eBay. I'd expect the card to cost about the same as recent completed sales on eBay. If you've got this card and are looking to move it let me know. Maybe I can help you avoid the $40 final value fee eBay would hit you with.

I don't really know how you could have done any better than that. Amazing. Simply amazing. Congratulations on the best break I've seen of this product.

Thanks everyone. I'm always working on learning whatever new development / programming tools come out. I've got a complete card gallery written in Silverlight but I'm not sure if that will ever make it to the web. I'm sure there will be some new iteration of my complete card gallery coming sometime soon.

It's poor performance from GoDaddy: it takes forever to even load a basic page. I think I'm going to move the gallery to another server I have that's more reliable later tonight.

I can't even get my blog to come up right now.

If you get something like the following error:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded...

Just try back later (this evening). GoDaddy and WordPress don't seem to work to well together. You get what you pay for I guess.

My focus right now is primary on the big names (Jordan, Erving, Bryant, Russell), but I'm interested in any that you might have. I would love to get what I can via trade; however, I know I don't have the greatest trade bait so I'm also up for buying.

given that i buy allen and ginter for the fun of it, i love that card. i like that topps has a sense of humor. i wish i had pulled something like that instead of the justin upton auto.

My biggest mistake would be buying a Vince Young Absolute RPM Spectrum parallel for something like $175 (thats still the most I've ever spent on a single card). I ended up selling it for $45 or so.

My best decision was selling my Brandon Jennings Topps Chrome retractor when I did. I sold it on eBay for a little over $80. I have no idea what that card sells for now, but during the week I sold it mine went for more than any other copy of the card on eBay.

These days I only buy singles for the PC and I hang onto just about every rookie auto I get (unless its a Brandon Jennings / Strausburg type situation).

I lived in Toledo for 6 years while in college (undergrad / grad). The only shop I remember was on Alexis somewhere (pulled my first Dwayne Wade auto there). The problem I had with it was that it was a hike from campus. I don't even know if that shop is still there (maybe it was called Bases Loaded?)

Anyway, I'm not there anymore, so what I think doesn't matter that much. Good luck.

I'd go iPad without question. I'd love to have one to use as an e-reader, check email and browse the web while watching tv, etc...
