Collector Zone _ No Purchase Necessary _ HI, I have some questions about these "NPNs"

Posted by: bufbillsstlcards Mar 15 2006, 11:15 AM

Ok, I have never sent one out, cause i didnt like the idea of wasting 2 stamps and not getting anything. But it seems like you guys get stuff!
Since you have to put an envelope in an envelope, do u use the big yellow ones?
The packs that gaurentee a jersey/ auto per pack, do they send out a jersey or auto per NPN? (Dont laugh at that one, im curiuos)
How long do they take?
NE one gotten ne thing BIG?
And why do the Canadians have to do math? LOL, really though, why?

Thanks everyone. Ill pick up some stamps today and when i get back tonight ill read ur replies and get cracking. Also, give me some baseball/football/hockey suggestions.
THANKS!

first of all when you send out a NPN don't expect anything in return .....it is like a lottery system. You have to put your name and address (UD asks for phone # and email address) on a 3x5 card and it must be sent in a #10 envelope. That is a plain white long envelope. For the GU...well if your lucky and get one you get one, but don't expect it. Remember it is like a lottery and you are not guarented to get anything. For time wise...who knows whenver they send them out they send them out.

i did get an auto from topps once and a #ered card from donruss...plus a few inserts..so you can get something good or a common/insert.

there was another post somewhere where the Canadian laws think of it as gambling...not as a free lottery

You don't put an envelope in an envelope, you just send off your info on an index card. The card companies use their own mailers if you "win". But I think you HAVE to use a #10 (long) envelope to send. Never understood why.

They send out cards based on the pack odds.

Topps is usually a month or two after deadline, Donruss takes almost a year sometimes. I've never had any luck with UD.

I got a Lou Brock auto #/27 once.

I think Canadiens have to answer a question because it's considered a lottery there and that has something to do with it.

Ok, I have never sent one out, cause i didnt like the idea of wasting 2 stamps and not getting anything.  But it seems like you guys get stuff!
Since you have to put an envelope in an envelope, do u use the big yellow ones? No, just a 3x5 card with your info as stated by several others

The packs that gaurentee a jersey/ auto per pack, do they send out a jersey or auto per NPN? (Dont laugh at that one, im curiuos) No, not everyone wins but if you do then you are more likely to get that.  Topps Pristine, I have generally gotten autos or GU, sometimes shortprinted RCs though.

How long do they take?  From 3-4 months to a year depending on company.

NE one gotten ne thing BIG?  Someone on here had a nice Caddillac Williams auto out of Portraits Football, and I just recently received a Pujols jersey from Pristine baseball #/75, and I have had several other good cards like a Jimmy Smith auto, a Heath Miller auto from UD Reflections.
And why do the Canadians have to do math?  LOL, really though, why? Canada considers it a form of gambling.

Thanks everyone.  Ill pick up some stamps today and when i get back tonight ill read ur replies and get cracking.

Also, give me some baseball/football/hockey suggestions.  Hockey SP Game Used just was released, and SPx came out recently.  Football Gridiron Gear, Bowman Chrome was a recent one.  Check the threads in the NPN Forum, WRV01 had listed a site that has a whole list of NPN offers.
THANKS!

I concur..

the higher end the product the less you can expect something!!

UD has a habit on higher end stuff not to send any.. as the case with Ultimate year after year!!

That's not always true. Most of the jerseys/autos I've received have been from higher end product NPNs, especially Topps! Donruss has lately been just sending me serial numbered cards.
