She just called a while ago...they're continuing to fight a 3 alarm fire in south lubbock....it is an UGLY fire....four warehouses and at least 12 cars burned so far but according to the news it appears to be under control at this time.

They're saying that other than a few people being treated for smoke inhalation there have been no injuries.

Glad no death...I wish I was there on the front lines with the guys. This type of fire really tests you and helps hone your skills...if it does not kill ya. This one looks like the tire warehouse we had several months back. Except ours was at night and not as large of area. MAN, I love what I do and love to see others doing it to. You know what I mean Kris? Thanks for the heads up. Got the adriline rushing just looking at it.

I like the adrenaline from chasing bad guys a lot more than I like the thought of putting blue stuff on the red stuff. I admire fire fighters for what they do....and I'm glad that I get to work close to them at times. Running into a burning building isn't my idea of fun on a Monday night. I'm thinking of branching out to the EMS field at some point....but I don't think I want to fight fires. unsure.gif

Hey Kris...it's "put the wet stuff on the red stuff" here anyway...and I love busting in a door with God and a buddy. Better have God because the devil is inside licking at your head. Dealt with a hostage situation once and got people out, but you never know what a human will do or their agenda. With fire you have some idea and you know its agenda---

I've heard it both ways.....wet stuff on the red stuff and blue stuff on the red stuff. LOL....I guess it depends on who you're talking to.

What a ride!!!!! biggrin.gif According to the news it took over six hours to get the fire under control with most of the Lubbock Fire Department and assists from three or four other agencies.....glad we didn't have business down south of here....we would have been driving around forever trying to find our way around all of that mess.

I got off around midnight lastnight....at one point we counted 29 fire units from our city alone there at the fire scene...that's not counting the surrounding area volunteer fire departments.....it was wild that's for sure!!

Talked to one of the State Fire Marshalls tonight (he's also the Chief of our Volunteer FD).....he said that they were finding pieces of 5 gallon propane bottles as far as 400 yds from the scene....some of the propane bottles themselves were more than 200 yards away including the one that went through the roof of Pedro's Tomales.
