I logged in to Sportscardfun.com today to see if I might be able to fill some set needs and found a message from the owner, Darcy, saying that the site is for sale. It appears that Darcy's wife has fallen ill and he no longer has time to maintain the site.
Sports Card Fun is the first trading site I joined when I wandered across it one day in 2001. I've always appreciated its simplistic style. Although it lacks the neighborly atmosphere that TCC enjoys, it was and is a place to efficiently fill collecting needs. There are fewer relic and auto hounds, but more set collectors than most sites. There are even people willing to trade 80s and 90s junk for other 80s and 90s junk. I'm curious to know how many of you have visited the site and trade through it.

When I first became a member, it was free. Around 06 or 07 they started charging a dollar a month to use the site and I quit trading there. As a result, I found Sportscard Sheriff and ultimately TCC. A couple years ago they dropped the membership fee and I usually check the boards on a daily basis because it's quick and painless, but you don't get the comraderie that you do here/

I never tried that one, and others I tried I didn't like for various reasons other than the Hockey one I frequent daily. This is where I got my start, and never really felt the need to branch out much and hang out other places at the same time.

Never heard of them. Noticed they are yet ANOTHER SCF that makes at least three:
SportsCardForum
SportsCardFreaks
and now
SportsCardFun

I used to get a little confused when people would say SCF I would first think of the Freaks since I had discovered that one just before finding the Forum, but they would mean the Forum one. Now with a third one I will get confused again. blink.gif huh.gif blink.gif
I'm still a member of the first two but rarely visit/use them.

Well that is new (within the last few weeks I guess) blink.gif blink.gif

Glad they kept the membership roll. I hate having to reregister for things I was once registered at ages upon ages ago.
