This item came from from one of our new weekly features - Beckett Game Notes provided by Beckett Media. Click here to read this week's article.

From the article:

Patriot's QB Tom Brady's top Rookie Card has moved up or down in price 16 times since it was first listed in the January 2001 issue of Beckett Football. At $800, it is one of the most valuable modern era base cards in existence. It doesn't feature an autograph or a jersey swatch, but it's part of a historically significant product - SP Authentic.

January 2001 - $30
December 2001 - $60
January 2002 - $125
February 2002 - $135
March 2002 - $175
September 2002 - $150
November 2002 - $175
December 2002 - $150
February 2004 - $200
March 2004 - $300
April 2004 - $350
June 2004 - $400
July 2004 - $425
November 2004 - $450
March 2005 - $750
April 2005 - $800

Very cool to see the history of the card's value! Put this data in a graph and make it available on a web site for lots of cards and that would be great. wink.gif

So, does anyone here have a copy of this card? If so, let's see a scan.

SP = Short Print. Usually a base card that has a drastically lower print count than a standard base card. It can also apply to insert cards as well I guess. The manufacturers usually don't tell the exact numbers just that the short printed cards will be much more scarcer than the normal number printed for each individual card.

What I Collect
Washington DC area Sports teams and Vintage plus Non-Sport.

OH ignore all that this is a set name SP Authentic, that might be "Super Premium" or some similar name.
