Its a nickname!

Posted by: 19th Century Indiana Jones Apr 16 2012, 02:58 PM

This is actually for the Kentucky Derby. I think this is the 3rd year I have held this contest.

This year, none of the 20 should be left out if there is a scratch. There will be an AE list - another horse that is waiting in the wings should one from the field scratch. I still have to put together a prize package.

Let's see which lucky person gets Bodemeister.....

You can youtube/google "bodemeister arkansas derby" to see what I mean.

Good luck to all!

There are 20 of you.
There are 20 horses in the Kentucky Derby.
Each one of you will be assigned a Derby horse at random.
If your assigned horse wins, you get the prize. smile.gif

But now you'll have an interest in this race. One of these runners will represent you. And this is as wide open a field as far as I can remember.

However, the current bandwagon is on Bodemeister.

Can't wait then! If I'm not working that day or Going to the card show in Jackson MI. that day, sure the wife will keep me updated via android!

17. aceecards - Done Talking

laugh.gif

Pros: Done Talking won the Illinois Derby ¾ of a length in front of Morgan’s Guerrilla who went on to finish last of 11 in the Coolmore Lexington Stakes in his next start. Done Talking closed from nearly last to split the two leaders deep into the stretch. It was a gutsy move for a young horse. The early speed we should see in the Kentucky Derby and Done Talking’s ability to maneuver through traffic may give this colt an advantage.

Cons: Done Talking really hasn’t taken on the top horses in this crop of three-year-olds. He did meet Hansen in the Goltham, but finished tenth and was beaten nearly 21 lengths. His Illinois Derby win was very slow, almost six seconds slower than the Blue Grass Stakes and Santa Anita Derby.

Fun Fact: Owner Skeedattle Stables is a partnership between Robert "Willie" White, Lou Rehak and Robert Orndorff. White and Rehak are best friends and business partners who own an overhead door company in Maryland.

Analysis: I just don’t think Done Talking has done enough, beaten enough of the most competitive horses in this field to warrant betting. His late closing running style will help, but in a field of 20 horses with other deep closers, I don’t think he’s going to be the one that gets out and gets to the finish first.

However i do like the Horse under Jockey Calvin Bo-Rail The post spot, the horse and the jockey seem to be the long shot to go with! Take Charge Indy at 15-1 take him in all your exacta and trifecta wagering
