So, getting close to the 2 week stretch of International hockey competition.

Going to be great seeing what transpires, and the games should be on when people are actually awake!

Who's your team?

What's your take on the final results?

I'm actually glad this will be finally starting in just under a month. Here in Canada they have been talking about there olympic hockey team for the last 3 years pretty much non stop. IMO I think it will be a pretty tight competition with several sweet teams Russia, Sweden, Finland, USA & Canada.

I'm hoping for a Canada/Russia final, but wouldn't mind a Canada/USA final, since USA broke our hearts in the World Junior Championships last month.

Thats a tough one. I think Russia and the Canadiens have the better teams offensively. USA is not bad, but I think goaltender wise right up there if those guys are on their games. You never know, a lot depends on the chemistry of the players involved and how well they sync up with each other on each team. I do not think the US Team has as much offensive firepower, but sometimes wits outplays skills so we will see.

Team Canada does look pretty crazy, but honestly, I'm really looking forward to seeing what Team Sweden will be able to do. I think they have a ton of talent on that team and they should do very well. My only concern is depth with goaltenders, but hopefully it won't have to come to that.

If I were Swedish, I'd be waving my flag proudly for this team.

Theres many teams who have a shot IMO.... Canada, Russia, Sweden, US, Czech's, and I think Finland was the other one. Canada and Russia clearly have better offenses than anyone. Canada cleary had the best goaltender and may even have the best 3 goaltenders in the league on their roster but as for starting goalies, I think the US has the 2nd best. It'll be the young offense that brings the US to victory. The defense is solid. I think many people will be surprised with what the US will bring with them to these games

AIll handicap these for ya!

Medalists
Canada - Home ice advantage. Nothing short of gold will satisfy! Solid all the way across defense, offense and goaltending, heck they even got special teams experts! if they dont win it will be a MIRACLE!

Russia - Only other team I fear that can match lines with Canada. Trouble is their defense isnt as solid and their goaltending could be a bit shaky!

Sweden - Best of the rest. Solid thru 3 lines and defense is stellar. Goaltending has potential to stand on their heads! They could win bronze to gold and it wouldnt suprise me

Watching national anthems being played of other countries!
USA - It will take a miracle for them to finish on the stand in my opinion. Youth will be served but where is the PUNCH

Czeck republic - Nice assemblage too many unknowns there Jagr Elias and goalie Vokoun lead the charge

Finns - Loss of Selanne hurts!

Slovakia - could surprise but not enough Halak in goal, chara on defense Hossa bros and Gaborik make these team a lot tougher than people think

Be lucky to win a game except against each other
Swiss - no chance

latvia - no chance

Germany - no chance

belarus - no chance

Norway - no chance

I think USA has a better chance of getting a medal then most thing.

They have 2 nice scoring lines and 2 nice defensive lines, decent Defense, and great if not the best goaltending in the world. Miller and Thomas are both very good goalies and will steal some games the the United States!
