Im not a very good linker so

Got to www.baptradingcards.com to read

Apparently the NHl and NHLPA have decided to award Upper deck the only license for producing Hockey cards for the upcoming season.

NO More ITG... No more Topps....

What a shame, I thought or hoped that the NHL and the NHLPA were supposed to be more fan friendly allowing better access and all that jazz.

Looks like they failed on this respect..

Now UD can ... pillage the collectors with high end stuff at high end prices.. I bet Victory was their last issue below $3.99 a pack...

The Sidney crosby & Ovechekin era collectibles will start and end with UD.

OUCH! What happened to capitalism, a free market economy! I am very disappointed with this decision.

Id say UD has more capital with which to bribe..I mean monopolize the industry....

I imagine the front office people at the NHL and NHLPA got quite the stipend for naming UD as its sole representative...

Click here to read more about this on the ITG web site.

As with baseball and Donruss, this is just another example where the issues are being corrected by eliminating manufacturers rather than limiting the number of products per manufacturer.

In my opinion, this is the wrong approach because it limits the competition which then has a tendency to weaken the product offerings.

the promise of 14-year-old John Tavares allowed the league to change its policy regarding minimum draft age. As he prepares to make a splash in the OHL, In The Game is proud to be the first company to feature him in a mainstream hockey card release.

Found this interesting.. A 14 y/o.

As to the state of the Hobby.....It's become one big ????
Guess I'll just have to wait for the modern releases to land wink.gif In the meantime, it's off to Vintage!

My almost updated trade+ site. Looking for Vintage all sports, and nice pieces from teams below PM/email with any offers. Thank You. Also 1990 Topps, and 2003 old logo.
Call someone a dodee buttt in the heat of a debate, banhammer, trying with all your might to pass fakes, or what amounts to fraud..Eh, give em a break, he made a mistake??!!??
