On paper, it doesn't seem like anyone can stop them. But we all know what happened in France 98. Plus, having all that pressure can't be a good thing. Every time Brazil play a match, the whole world expects them to win 4-0 or 5-0. It doesn't happen all the time and international squads are much stronger and more competitive nowadays. I think they have a good chance to win the World Cup this year....but I think they will have to get past some very very good teams in order to do so.

yes we know that we all expect them to win like that but when it comes to this squad this year there 23 men deep so not many people can say there that deep. The coach lets his players go and play and play free the US coach didn't let his players play like that and look what happen. So we will all see.

Well....Brazil were really lucky to get past Croatia! It took a fantastic strike from Kaka in the 44th minute.....for most of the 2nd half, Croatia were actually the better team!

not the blow-out you were expecting .. eh ?

Croatia had a lot of good individual efforts to contral the ball, but couldn't put together any plays. That corner kick that sailed over everyone ... what a waste !

Kaka made a brilliant play and deserved the goal .. but it could have easily been 1-1.

Ok .. here's my complaint about Brazil ..

they have outstanding athletes and on most days .. probably be best football (soccer) team in the world ..

but if the team is down/not playing up to their best/in a close game with someone they are supposed to beat like Croatia ...

The are the biggest bunch of divers and fakers ... they will fall when the wind blows to get that penalty kick ! ... to me .. a dive is a cheat .. play on ! ... it makes me sick.

if ur talking only about brazil i have to dissagree with the diving because all teams have one person who likes the ground. Brazil didn't play good the other day i will say that. They can easily turn it up tho (i hope). They should be wanting it more then others. Ronaldo didn't come to play and i knew that when he walked out onto the field in the second half right as the ball was kicked. He was "fashionable Late". so we will see on sunday when they play Austalia.

Have to agree with you there Jim....they do tend to dive and moan on the ground alot....as though they've been shot everytime someone touches them.

Just think back to the last World Cup....remember Rivaldo against Turkey? I lost all respect for him in that moment....when the ball struck his knee as he was about to take a corner and he dropped to the ground screaming and clutching his face. I remember watching an interview about the incident and Rivaldo just laughed it off....saying that it's expected. What a load of rubbish. Players like him destroy this beautiful game.
