So I was just at my local Supermarket, Wegmans, looking for a soda, when Hello, whats this? The colorfull packaging of Yugioh!, and where theres Yugioh!, theres baseball cards close to them. So all they had were the two pack blisters of bowman chrome, etc. Nothing to interesting, then I see a number 87, So I had to buy the box set of My Boy, Sid the kid.
The box is in penguins colors, and obviously is marketed to Canadians, as there is French Translations for everything, hence my subtitle.
Ive never gotten a box set before, there are randomly inserted autos, im sure that its 1:10000000. Lets rip this thing
Well the sticker tabs holding it shut are no fun to take off, i ripped the box a little because of it, and to me a box and pack collector, thats a big deal. And one of the tabs ripped off the penguins logo on the side of the box. MMMMMMMMM, that Upper Deck new card smell, you know what im talking about. Ok, Card 1, Corner is bent ugh.
Ok, I went thru them all, and they have some cool moments. My favorite is number 14, Final Game with Lemieux.
Over all, I am pretty dissapointed. The cards arent even on a regualr card stock, they are flimsy, that is not cool. Also, Alot of the cards corners are bent. Again, not cool. The photography is excellent, really captures his facial expressions of determination and excitement. All great shots, which UD is known for.
Overall, this set gets a C. Damaged cards, not real cards. But, they did highlight some semi important games. He reached 100 points today, If UD comes out with a second one, Ill write them and request that 100 points one
. I would say buy if you are a die hard crosby fan, thats about it. I paid 10.99.
