I think of the 10 or so horses that have had these types of injuries 7 of them have been put down on the track. Even if Barbaro lives, he will never be the same again. He definately will not be able to gallop, its possible he may not even be able to trot. Bottom line is the only reason they did 5 hours of surgery on this horse is to try to keep the bloodlines. In about a year, they'll put him to stud. If he cannot perform, then he will be euthanized. I dont know.. am I the only one that would rather see a human break their leg?? Just so sad when it happens to a horse.
