Collector Zone _ Ask the Experts _ Did I make a bad trade?

Posted by: shaqcollector Aug 21 2012, 06:27 PM

Well i made a trade tonight and i think i may regret it. I traded a tony gonzalez 1/1 printing plate for a sam bradford 2012 certified patch 3/5. Dont know about this? Any comments?

I don't think it's necessarily bad. How nice is the patch? Do you have a pic?

I dont have a pic my scanner isnt here and i cant upload to photobucket throgh my phone i did put the card on my ebay though. You can see it there.

That could go either way. 1/1 printing plates are not that great, guess it depends on the patch.

Here are some recent Gonzalez plate sales, they vary from $13 - $50

Bradford Patches vary based on colors, I found one numbered to/15 3 colors and sold for $9.

id have done it.

printing plates are not always 1/1's

I'd say you actually came out ahead on that one, but they're valued pretty similarly.

Not bad at all. A 1/1 printing plate is nice, but they aren't rare anymore.

you made the trade to begin with so something interested you about the Bradford patch. I would not second guess the trade and be happy with it

Thanks for all the input everyone. It is much appreciated.

I think you did well...the cards may be similiar in value now...but the Bradford holds more potential....Gonzalez isn't going to increase substantially in value since his career is over..but Bradfords could increase alot.

As someone who would have absolutely no interest in either card I would rather have the Bradford.

Printing plates, while 1/1s (for that color), aren't the preferred 1/1. If it was a superfractor you traded - that might be bad.

A solid trade. Have no regrets and don't look back.

Being a Falcons fan, I would say that is a bad trade, but normally, that does not sound that bad honestly.
