OK, let's examine this:

He wanted $1,000 but you were 'able to' talk him down to $400. Not saying your friend is a jerk or anything, but he tried to sucker you into paying a lot more than he's willing to take.

I agree with Richard on this one. There is no way that someone is going to mark something down to $400 dollars from $1000 just like that. He was just trying to get more than what it was worth out of it just like most people at stores like that.

Like, $200 max if you're into that stuff. How can you be sure it's authentic, though?

And if he wanted $1,000 from you but sold it for $700 and now is willing to take $400, it makes me question its authenticity. Do you know for sure he sold it for that much? If it was on eBay, make sure he didn't have a buddy shill the auction.

If it was authentic then I would probably say around $200 to $300 at most.

Honestly there is no real secondary market for wrestling autographs like their is in other sports, except for guys like Frank Gotch/Londos/Lewis.

Anyway if I wanted the item, this is how I would determine how much to pay: Most wrestlers charge between 5-10 for a polaroid and an autograph at any indy show. You said there are 17 guys, at an average $10 per autograph. ECW chairs are have sold and or listed on Ebay from $42-163$163Chair . At the same time that same $163 ECW chair wasn't even able to get a bidder. Unsold Chair

Then if you look at the $163 chair, the seller has a feedback of 2. The one buyer has limited feedback, and quick review of her ebay history doesnt show a lot of wrestling items. Also the $42 $42 Chair was sold by the same guy who sold the $163.

Anyway where were we, 17 autographs on the high end would or would cost you $170 or so. In reality it would be cheaper. An ECW chair sells for around $40, round it up to $50. Using my math, I would value the chair at top end $225.

The other thing to consider is that most indy wrestlers make their money signing autographs at shows. They will sign all night long as long as their is someone willing to pay. I have been to many of show where a wrestler held up the card so he could continue selling autographs.

I am a set collector.
Sets I am currently working on:
07 Topps Heritage
06 A/G Mini
06 Bowman Heritage
05 Turkey Red FB
05 Cracker Jack
04 Cracker Jack
