The ex-Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, got huge applause for verbally attacking a moderator for having the audacity to question his part concerning an interview that had taken place hours before with the 2nd ex-spouse of the Speaker.
I have tried, in vain, to find a link to this now famous political exchange.
I'll gladly relay this response to the ex-Speaker . . .
If you would have had me on the other side of this verbal sparring, it wouldn't have resulted in the cheers and accolades that you received.
My response . . .
"Mr. Speaker,
I don't tell you how to do your job, how dare you tell me how to to do mine."
or maybe this . . .
" You sanctimonious filth, I ask the questions. Try answering one."
I could go on and on but I fear I would wear out my welcome here.

I missed it. Good thing. I'm not voting for Romney. Even if he was governor of this messed up state. He spent much (way too much) time out of the state like he was running for president even then. I have no clue who I'll vote for. End of my political ranting.

QUOTE(mjda @ Jan 21 2012, 12:57 PM) I actually applaud Newt too. I fail to see what the ramblings, which may or may not even be true, of a bitter ex-wife have to do with the presidential campaign. I could actually care less what a man's ex-wife has to say about him, because chances are almost all of it will be bad, and without proof it's also quite possible that it's all lies. I'm sure that's exactly what the "other side" had in mind when they interviewed her. As Richard eluded too... Its a big deal considering his past stance on politicians and infidelities. The truth of the matter is, personal matters may or may not have any place in today's political arena but the fact Newt had the audacity to be angry with the medias attention to his past personal issues is HILARIOUS! That is....... Considering in the 90's he pledged to say during every public appearance that Americans have the right to know the truth about the "Lewinsky" matter and that the president(Bill Clinton) is not above the law. The irony in his arrogance is my beef with him. If he wants an open marriage, then that's a personal decision. But him having a problem with "We the people" searching into his past is crazy, since he wanted to crucify Clinton.
