Hey all. Newcomer to the site looking for some guidance. I was recently cleaning out a late family member's basement and came across this lot of 16 vintage baseball/football cards. All high grade stuff - every one is a PSA 8. Here's the catch: all but one have some sort of case (not card) damage. It's as if the box was run over by a truck at some point. The cards appear to be unscathed, but then again, I'm no expert.

I did a quick search of completed eBay listings and some of these cards have sold in the $80-$100 range recently. How much will the PSA case being damaged affect the resale value? From what I gather from my personal research thus far, PSA will re-case the cards for $5 a piece...is it worth it, or should I just sell the whole lot as-is? Piggy backing off of that question, is it more beneficial to sell as a lot or piece the collection off individually? I'm not looking to get rich...but I'd also feel guilty just giving these inherited items away. Is there any value still here, as-is?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Here is an itemized list of the cards, and a few photos.

Those seem like pretty serious cracks. I'd try and look at the better ones as closely as possible to be absolutely sure theres no damage and send them back to psa. Otherwise you would have to sell them at a reduced price and hope to have no problems with whomever buys them.

The buyers of the eBay ones are paying the higher prices because they are getting exactly what they want. The buyer of these in this state will be looking to get a deal either to crack and keep or to resubmit and resell.
