Hi guys, I wanted to try to start up a mid to high-end case-breakers group and have the group determine how to spend the budget. We can bust wax from 2008 one month or 2012 the next. Anything goes. I will use mostly Blowout and Atlanta Sports Cards to purchase wax from.
Cost:
$50/spot
$30/draft spot
Payment Due:
November

Group Budget:
With 24 filled 8 draft = ~$1300 after paypal fees, shipping and supplies
Product:
1 case 2011 Five Star
2 boxes 2012 Elite
Break Date:
General rules:
1. All cards go to the team pictured/written on the card. Oiler cards go to the Titans. Any card with no associated team will be randomized
2. Break will be live on blogtv and will be recorded. Randoms will be done via random.org 3 times and uploaded to Youtube after the break. If you own the majority of the teams on the card, card goes to you.
3. Scans/Photos of all hits will be posted after the break
4. All hits and lower numbered parallels (<10) will be sleeved and toploaded
5. All transactions will be posted once break fills
6. All packages will be shipped with DC# and in a bubble mailer
7. Insurance is optional. Please contact me if you want insurance.
8. Packages will be mailed out within 2 days of break's completion
9. No base will be shipped unless numbered

Ownership updated. Teams will be retained month to month. Ideally, I'd like to change up the year of product each month and the product to have a good mix of Vet and Rookie hits.

Aw heck, I'm a sucker for a monthly break. Put me down for the Browns and I'm good with 11 Five Star although I'll be hoping for a lot of 2012 stuff in this one going forward!

Are your breaks going to involve ONE YEAR or will there be multiple years being busted each month? Also, how far back are you going to bust open? Its never good to have a bunch of expired redemptions being pulled.

Each month we'll have a main year where the majority of our budget will be spent then use any extra money to buy a filler from another year. We have about $1300 to play with.
I understand that people will want to the product that their team has the best return on (2012 Luck, Griffin, 2011 Newton, etc), but I'd like to at least change the year of the main product each month to even things out. I envision this group to be dynamic, in a sense where we'll evolve how product is decided upon along with team ownership, etc but the main goal of this monthly is to bust more mid-end cases (certified, limited, threads, elite, chrome etc) from different years since we have our high-end, hobby and case breakers with Chris.
Let me know your thoughts, questions or concerns.

Im fine with mixing years, but I personally prefer the 3 year swing, '10, '11, and '12.. so we chase Tebow/Bradford, Newton etc down the line. But the newer the better for me (gee, wonder why huh? 
)

If 2009 stuff ever gets opened up I might be interested in the Jets and Lions... Who knows maybe even the Eagles... First time getting back into it in a while, but could be interested, good luck filling up.

I just opened 2012 Prime in my High End #2 break and really thought it was pretty solid for the price. That's my .02! I also think 2010 Plates & Patches is underpriced but the redemptions are now expired and they usually have quite a few in there.

At this point, I don't think it'll fill. We have 12 teams filled, so about $540 after fees, shipping and supplies. Which would leave us at about 3-5 hobby boxes. Each spot would get 1 drafted team, then the extra 8 teams, hits will be randomized between group members. If the group wants to move forward with this, please let me know your thoughts.

With a reduced budget, I'd most likely stick to 2011 and 2012 products. Maybe 2 boxes from each year.

I'll try my best to see if I can put something in before Dec as I want to avoid the holidays as much as possible. I'd love to stick with cases though, but maybe a cheaper version of a hobby box break similar to Chris's might be popular? Stick to 2011 and 2012 product only. We'd end up having about $600-$700 to play with depending on how many members we pick up.
