GREAT cards
You are doing well, very nice.

RGBII
Have you played the record?!? Isn't there a cd/dvd version of that
I don't have the player for it. There is a special player that plays the story and shows the video at the same time. I am sure the sound quality is horrible at best.
Decent pickups:
Pretty cool old advertisement:
One of the greatest collections of the greatest players on THE greatest team. Thank you so much for sharing. If I come across any, I will send them your way.
Rodney
Big week:
2nd picture is the card that started all the insanity for me. I had to pick up another:
Front:
Back:
Did the record come with it? Of course, we don't have a way to play them nowadays...
Yes the record came with it + some picture slides. There is actually a specific player for these records and slides made back in the 60's. I may have to pick one up sometime to see what the record sounds like. I am sure the sound quality has a lot to desire.
Another certified autograph:
Great week, needed everything. Another 1/1 printing plate (I have the magenta this is the black version)
Personal picture and autograph:
The record should play on a regular turntable (if you still have one of those). It looks like from the pics that the "special" player was just a regular kids record player with a built in slide viewer. You probably had to manually turn that front dial to go to the next slide at a tone on the record like the old filmstrip/ record player (or tape) presentations.
For the slides well you probably would have to find the specific player that was made for the set.
I'm sure the recording, even when it was new, has that warbling sound
Reminds me slightly of the Mattel "Instant Replay" discs that they sold in the late 60s early 70s. At the time me and my brother had several of the Football ones (I don't think we had a full set though) and some of the other sports.
A few months back I bought the Frank Robinson disc at my card shop for $15 that may have been a bit much but what the heck.
Another quad #/25. One of my favorite cards:
Not the best picture, but a neat oddball game ticket 1978 Bears versus Lions with Red Grange pictured:

Love following all 3 of your threads since 2008!!!
jaderock:
appreciate you following the threads. As you know, it starts out small and turns into an addiction that you just can't kick. I never thought the 3 collections (especially the Thorpe and Grange) would turn into such a huge investment of time and $$. The Nagurski collection just doesn't go anywhere since not much is made of him for some reason.
I would just love to see a Thorpe/ Grange/ Nagurski card made and it would top off the collection.
