I am curious what the consensus is on how cards should be shipped from box breaks?

I have been in many breaks, where the seller ships all cards in 100ct boxes or smaller. I have also been in breaks where the seller ships the base in team bags with dummy cards on the outside to protect the inner cards, and then ships all hits in top loaders.

Unfortunately, it seems that more and more sponsors are just throwing all cards or sometimes just base in a team bag and then ship them to me. When I receive the cards, the corners are beat up.

If you ask me to pay shipping, what exactly am I paying for? Just frustration...If you want suggestions on how to ship, I suggest you get with Chadb1733 or some of the other sponsors for suggestions.

You are offering a service for which I am paying, when it comes time to ship...dont try and save some change just ship the cards as you would like someone to ship them to you.

Seems like folks who shipped that way woudn't have repeat box break customers....

"Baseball players will take anything. If you had a pill that would guarantee a pitcher 20 wins but might take five years off his life, he'd take it" MLB pitcher Jim Bouton about drug use in the Major Leagues... quoted in 1969.

I vow to no longer purchase any product that features sticker autographs...
If your user name is this color I'm afraid I'll have to pass on any proposed transactions at this time.

Tarasadie and I agree on something! haha.

If you pay for shipping in the break cost than you should expect no less than well packed/protected cards, be it base or 1/1 cut autos of George Washington.

All the groups I have been in recently have shipped with either decoys around the base or the base in a 20 ct box. Either of those methods works for me. It is definately not fun to pay for a break to get bent or damaged cards in the mail.

I don't do box breaks (might down the road when I have some money), but if you have ever dealt with me, you know I pack better than Fort Knox holds gold!! laugh.gif tongue.gif

Yea people need to step it up just a bit!! There was another post about someone who didn't ship good for there box break!! If the person hosting the box break needs a extra buck per person to buy a pack or 2 of toploaders or penny sleeves or whatever, just add it to the cost to get in! I think people would ratter pay a extra buck and get there cards safe, then save a buck and get bent up garbage! Just my thoughts!

Always looking for Edgerrin James and Javarris James cards I need!

**MY WANTS**
-2007 topps tx superbowl ticket stub auto versions only. Base set of stubs is done!
-2001-2006 topps tix super tix superbowl ticket stub cards and auto version.
-Colts Super Bowl tickets from any Super Bowl they played in. Prefer full tickets but would be open to stubs as well. Only tickets from the Manning ERA!
-A Super Bowl ticket or stub from the AZ Cardinals and Steelers.
-Any full ticket or stub that has Edgerrin James on it!
-Edgerrin James- Mostly rarer stuff. Also odd ball type items.
-Javarris James- Mostly rarer stuff. Also odd ball type items.
-Any checklist that has Edgerrin or Javarris James name on it!

This is what I try to impress upon the new sponsors. The cards dont have to be all packed in toploaders...the decoy method works great and there isnt any added cost and you the sponsor will be able to get rid of some trash too.

One would think that they wouldn't get repeat folks in their breaks and would get to where their breaks wouldn't fill. So it is in their best interest to package things so potential damage is limited. Any improper packaging should be noted in the transaction, so that if folks do their homework and check out the host (yeah a pipe dream I guess, as folks jump into higher end breaks with folks that have no transactions here) it is documented that way. Let me stress in your transaction thread with them and not in any of their new threads, as that becomes mudslinging and you can end up in trouble for that in a hurry.
Personally I ship cards how I would like to receive them, as I get enough "damaged" cards out of packs/boxes as it is. I also note that during my break recording if cards coming out of box that way (Select and a few others real condition sensitive). It doesn't add much into the postage cost to use some decoys or old toploaders to protect the base. I put the base in team bags and then sandwich them in the middle of the team bags with any hits/RCs in toploaders, as usually everyone has some RC's or something worth using a toploader in. Just don't support breaks that folks ship that way, as if you go back to them then it's your fault at that point and they feel it is ok to ship that way.

TCC's Cousin Itt

Looking for former Oregon State players in NFL, Steven Jackson top priority:
