Here's the thread for the December 2008 OFFICIAL TCC Baseball Group Box Break.

Here is a list of teams and the members who held them in the November break.
I will make adjustments to this list if teams change, and as people verify with me that they want to be in the December break, and as they pay for their teams.

Those who participated last month have first dibs at renewing their team purchase or choosing another team. So, if you participated in the November break, let me know what you would like to do.

Here are the rules:

Cost: $30--this covers the cost of the boxes and the shipping and supply costs.

The boxes we break will depend on member input and how much money we get. The more members, the more money, the more boxes (or the more higher end the boxes can be).

You can buy as many teams as you want, the first is $30 and each additional team is $25.

How the remaining teams will be distributed will depend on the number of teams left. Once that is determined we can discuss again how those teams will be distributed.

Here are some "decision rules," so there is no confusion.

If a card features more than one player from different teams, then there will be a random drawing between the the owners of the teams featured on the card, using Random.org. The owner who is chosen by Random.org will receive the card.

If a card features a player in a different jersey than the team labels on the card, the card will go to the team of the jersey the player is in.

Game used and auto cards from teams who are not chosen during a particular month will be randomly awarded amongst all members of the break, based on Random.org selections.

The rest of the cards that are from teams who are not chosen during a particular month will be randomly distributed amongst all participants in the break.

I've posted a poll on what you guys think we should do about the cards in the lottery. I've not been happy with Random.org, but some of you may really like that method. So, we can either continue to use random.org or move back to the method we used in the very first break where I put everyone's name in a hat and the people that did not get any GU or Autos get more slips with their name on it in the hat than the people who did.

So, it would basically work like this.

Let's say that I got 5 gu or autos out of the break. That was the most anyone received. I would get one slip of paper in the hat.

People who got 4 autos or gu would get 2 slips.

3=3 slips
2=4 slips
1=5 slips
0=6 slips

So people who got nothing from the break would get 6 slips with their name on it in the hat for the drawing for the extra cards.

So, vote on what method you would prefer.

I am still in....but we need to do a random where as everyone in the break has atleast one hit before some people receive 3 or 4 random hits. Make it where once you get a random hit, you dont get another random hit until everyone in the break also has received 1 random hit. After everyone has received 1 random hit, put all members back into the random.org and then start the same process over again. 1 random hit per person per round.

This has been a question since the beginning of this break and the decision was made that since everyone pays for their team, EVERYONE should have an opportunity to win all the un-claimed cards.

This hasn't happened yet, but it may very well be one day that we pull a super high dollar card that does not belong to a team that someone purchased. It's not fair that because RGBII won the last drawing for the Johnny Whozit GU card he is excluded from the drawing for the Nolan Ryan Auto (since no one ever buys the Astros). He paid his money just like everyone else. That's why we went with random.org in the first place so that everyone would have an equal chance with each card. However, I think random.org sucks and hasn't been random at all. Every month it seems certain members get left out of the drawing while others get all the cards. So, someone suggested we move to a system that allows everyone to have a chance at all the cards but those with less hits have a greater chance.

I don't think it matters what way you go with. People will complain regardless. Look I have been in the break for like 4 months and I have yet to get a random. But I don't think it's fair to everyone that just because you get less hits you get more for the unclaimed. Everyone pays the same. It would be nice to get a hit every month but it's not always going to happen. And one last thing if people are complaining about the unclaimed hits than switch your team. The Royals have had great pulls since I have been here and noone picks them.

That is very very true. We've had some excellent pulls from the Royals, Marlins, and Rockies and no one ever takes them.
