Above is a link to Joe's "Collecting Bio" and once again I am asking the TCC and Boxbreakers community to step up and offer some freebies that can be sent his way. To make it easier just send them to me and I'll put together the award package that will be presented as the first video of the break this month. Congrats to Cardman123 on a well deserved award!

Need help on this one guys. We have 09NT as it's turn in the rotation this month but the rest we need to decide. DACardworld has a case of 2008 Exquisite but it's overpriced at $1680 or something like that. We could go with all NT or choose another High End product for 08. We could also go with earlier products and mix in any of the products like 06 or 07 Exquisite or 06NT to combine with 09NT. I'm totally open on this but I just don't want to get in a rutt and it seems like we've been opening all the same products lately. Opinions???

hey chris, the only alternative i see to exquisite in 08 would be ud premier which is $1795 for a 10 box case at DA but i don't know if that fits in the budget or not. i know there is the unwritten rule about staying within the 2 year window, but i think with the scarcity of 08 Exq. we should look to be rotating in the 07 and 06 products (and obviously 2010 once some quality products start being released) so that we don't get stuck in a rut as you pointed out. i think that 07 Exq. ($1049 BO), 06 NT ($1280 BO) and 06 Exq. ($929 BO) are viable options at this point.

If we should be rotating over a 3 year period, I say it's probably time for an 07 product to keep it fair to team owners. Maybe we dont do an 09 product and do 07 & 08? I'm even up for chipping in more $$$ to buy the more expensive cases (08 Exquisite) if need be. My 2 cents.

Personally i would vote for bringing in some older 06 and 07 products but I would tend to keep 09 since it's in good supply and reletively well priced (compared to 08).

What do people think about this...I buy a case of 06 Exquisite and 07 Exquisite and we break 2 of the 3 boxes from each case and combine it with the case of 09NT. Depending on participation we may be able to do a full case of one of the Exquisites but probably won't have enough to do all 3 cases. We can use the leftover box or two in next months break as we switch to 09Exquisite and maybe combine it with 08NT. Then the following month we can get 06NT in the mix...

Once you finalize the product list I may jump in as that would be very beneficial in helping me decide on a team if I choose to.

I agree...we need to finalize the list in the next day or so. Here is my proposal on an ongoing basis. It gets away from doing full cases all the time but I figure as long as we keep all the boxes from the cases in this group (half this month/half the next) we'll still be getting the "case hits" at some point so hopefully that's ok.

I would like to steer this back to a truly multi-year break. It may mean only a box or two is opened from each year but I like the mix of teams that it includes and the variety that it opens up even though we would stick primarily to NT and Exquisite as usual. Here is my proposal for this month (this list would require 23 teams to be claimed to cover costs) and keep in mind that I would still buy sealed cases of each product and all those boxes would eventually be used in this same group.

I know the older stuff tends to scare people off but they're cheap and add a variety to the mix. I'd add 09 Exquisite into the mix next month but keep most of the same products in there so I don't have to tie up that much money for too long of a time. Again, I know this is a departure from the norm of full cases all the time but I think we need to shake it up to try to add more team owners into the mix. The bigger part of the budget will probably be slanted towards 09 products until 2010 comes out and then those products will probably get more budget allotted to them than other years but I'd still want to include a mix in years.

i think that this is a great idea. it keeps teams like the falcons and ravens relevant with the 08 boxes and it will spread more interest around to some of the unclaimed teams which, at the very least, should result in higher silent bids when the time comes. i would also like to say thanks chris for being willing to front the money for boxes which will be sitting around for an extra month. i like this idea so much that (in the hopes that other members of the group agree with chris's ideas) i would like to add the packers as a third team and switch the saints to the bears please.

I love it. Especially since the cases will all be opened within this group to ensure the case hits, even if it is over a period of two or three months.
