It is discouraged!

I see a lot of people bumping marketplace and trading threads lately. This type of uncreativeness is discouraged on this site.

Team members will delete bumps to threads or "ttt" added to threads!

Every thread appears on everyone members board until it is read or ignored! You "bumping" it ot "ttt" ing it only causes members to become irritated with you!

Please extend everyone the courtesy we extend you by not attempting to bump your thread!

Thank You!

Good topic. It gets especially annoying when a member 'bumps' the topic after only an hour or two.

I will often move a thread up if its been 12 hours or so...once in the morning and another in the evening. Otherwise, after its been a day or more

I'll usually do it at least 10 hours, I think it is really discourteous to do it after an hour or in some people's cases, a few minutes. rolleyes.gif

I see a couple of people that post the same threads over and over and over again. Why? Its pointless and takes up space. Why not just bump the thread you already made. If you have posted the same thing 5 times and none got replies...posting it AGAIN isnt going to help much. Its not the post, its the content.

Idk how this works, but in other forums I have seen a "bump" option, where no post is added, but the topic moves to the top....if there was some way we could limit this option (like once every 6 hours or so) it would be a good idea in my opinion.

The preferred method is if after a couple days you'd like members to take a fresh look, you write a simple and polite post to that effect.

For example,

"I've still got that Papelbon auto for trade if anyone is interested"

or "I still need these cards for my Donruss Elite set, can anyone help?"

All it takes is 15 seconds of courtesy.

I can understand how bumping posts is annoying, but its also very useful and can make sense. I try to bump my post every 4-5 hours so other members can read it. Most members just hit the new posts button and see whats on the first or second page. I know some people have work during the day, and others aren't avaliable at night, so when im trying to find something or sell something, I try to make it avaliable to everyone. It is very annoying when you bump a post every hour or so, but i feel it is ok every 4 or 5 hours. Thanks

I bumped up a post after a day or so and just because I didnt write a pointless message and put Up to the Top or whatever I got yelled at. Makes more sense to me to bump a post up instead of recreating a new post everytime but to each his own. Also if people are going to get scolded for bumping, perhaps we can stop certain membres from having 4+ posts in a row on one page. To me this is worse than bumping when you could just have one or two combined posts.

I trade by book value. If thats going to be an issue move along.

I would rather see one of these posts any day than 'ttt' or 'bump'. Bumps and ttts just get annoying. In my opinion, 'ttts' and 'bumps' (rather than at least trying to post a sentence) show impatience and maybe even laziness.

And, a topic from Bob on 'ttt':

To the trash

I know when I use to bump threads, I'd do so by typing something like "These are still available" or "Anyone need these?", stuff like that. They aren't but maybe a second longer to type than "bump" and "ttt".
