The point of the thread is to have all the information in one place.  It's great to check member profile info on certain posters, but I would have to click 40 individual links to get all that info whereas any random poster can respond to this and I have all the information on just a couple of pages.  Again, the idea is of the milieu here, not just one individual poster click at a time.

Meat and potatoes are great, although I don't know why they are considered "man food" (my fiance despises meat). I'll take them over chocolate any day. Reading was also a man's activity for many centuries before women were even encouraged to read. Most of the great writers are male.

I collect: Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Steelers, and West Virginia Mountaineers (pro and college cards). Also, I do collect players from my area of the country such as athletes from the Pgh area, WV, and the "Upper Ohio Valley" region (Stuebenville, OH, Weirton/Wheeling, WV).

What that means is everybody and anybody from Dan Marino, to Lou Holtz, Lou Groza, Sam Huff, Jerry West, John Kruk to even guys like Joe Pettini, Tim Spencer, and Lance Mehl. I have a pretty strict focus on my collection and it helps me to enjoy it all the more. If it's a memory of an athlete from where I grew up, it's all the better.

BTW - I am always willing to help out others and share. I love when I can streamline my collection, help a friend with their collection, and yet grow my own at the same time. Helping to give needed carboard a good home is a WONDERFUL thing.

Okay, being that I am the newbee, hopefully this helps others get to know me. Hopefully, I'll be hearing from many of you soon.

One last thing; if there is anybody from the Memphis area that reads this and would like to have a REAL CARD SHOW for once, please message me. I've been thinking about this and it's about time Memphis finally has a show. Collecting here is tuff and we need to band together.

My son and I started buying cards, mostly Upper Deck NFL and Baseball about 15 years ago, but it never lasted. Recently I came into a major collection of NHL and NBA cards. I could be sitting on some good stuff here but I have no way of knowing and it'll take months to catalog this. Any suggestions?
