Typical story...I don't know much about trading cards, and was given (in the 1000's) that I am looking to get rid of (inheritance). These are cards from all era's.
1930's - now.
Since I am sure people may try to rip people off over the internet, I simply want to know who I can contact to come look at what I have.
I haev seen Babe Ruth Bbcards, Rookie Montana, Rookie Bill Rusell, Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry Rice, Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, Ayne Gretzky, Michael Jordan Rookie, sealed packages from all eras. Way too many to mention.
Believe me. I may not know much about cards, but I do know it is a gold mine.
I am looking for serious collectorsa/organizations that can help me move these.
I am not some guy trying to rip people off, so serious inquiries only, and feel free to contact me via emial and then we can chat on the phone.

Would you be looking to see off the whole collection at once or try sorting through it yourself to get an approx idea how much it is woth and sell it off in pieces ?

There have been a few threads here giving advice to people in similar situations, take a look around the forums, and feel free to post any more specifics or questions. There are plenty around who can help out.

I am in your shoes and started at least two threads about how to go about sorting and selling 3 million cards (http://www.tradingcardcentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1621&hl= and http://www.tradingcardcentral.com/forums/i...wtopic=1281&hl= _. Let me say that of all the sites that I have visited for information - this one has the best, most helpful, folks. You have come to the right place. I know I did smile.gif

Thanks fellas!

Juan,

If you happen to run across any Nolan Ryan or early Texas Rangers or Washington Senators please let me know and we can work a deal on those. I'm sure that with the type and quantity that you're talking about there's no way I could afford the whole lot of cards...but those are the teams and player I am most interested in. Let me know something either on this thread or you can PM me.

The best place to start is with your own research. Pick up a Tuff Stuff magazine and start searching out the cards or use several Beckett sport guides. Once you know what you have it is easier to try to sell it. Sure you will not get what the book says it goes for, but at least then you can decide if the offer is fair. Also, this will help you sift out the better peices to get someone to decide to come to look at the collection. If you take a box of good stuff to a local card show and shop it around you should get offers and possibly dealers to come look at the collection. You are always better off up front knowing what you have before you try selling it.
