Collector Zone _ Other Sports _ Roy Jones Jr. Fighting this Saturday

Posted by: Lupush Jul 26 2006, 07:37 PM

Roy Jones Jr. is taking on virtual "unkown" Prince Badi Adjamu this Saturday in Boise, Idaho. Now first of all, the fact that Roy has sunk down to taking a fight in Boise (not that there's anything wrong with Boise) is pathetic. He could not get licensed to fight with any of the major boxing commissions (Nevada, New Jersey, California, New York, Texas, etc...) Now... I believe that Roy is going to lose to Badi. I offer this wager.. I have a 8X10 signed by Hall of Famer Emile Griffith which I obtained at a charity event earlier this year. I will bet this against a boxing, hockey, baseball or football auto that Roy is going down on Saturday. If anyone is interested let me know!

He's showing his age(to be expected), just 3 years ago he would have surgically destroyed this guys face & body, letting it be known he could knock him out at will.

Still nice to see the.. or one of the 3 best pd per pd fighters ever back in action.

No, no, no... a bet is a bet. The pic will go out this week. The boxing event is October 26th. Info should be coming out on that in the next few weeks! Ace, did you hear me on with Sugar Ray last week?

I agree, however I have to disagree with you on the second part of your comment. Roy SHOULD NOT be fighting, he was knocked out just about as bad as a fighter can be against Tarver and Johnson. This man risks serious permanent brain injury each time he steps in the ring. I hope he hangs them up, I dont want to see him end up like Ali.

Oh I agree you read too much into my words, I'm not that selfish, or masacistic! Sorry for the misunderstanding.
I was happy to see him in the ring again, and mainly in charge, imposing his will.
But I really hope this quenched his thirst for battle/competition...he should do celebrity matches, I'd love to see him take on T.Danza, maybe R.Limbough..H. Stern smile.gif
