Michael, Gold Label that was one of the prettiest cards ever produced.  I collected the hockey as my favorite, but did pick up some of the other sports just because of the look.  My only complaint with it was the over-paralleling with the class 1, 2, 3 and the black, silver, and red labels.

You know, I really wasn't bothered with the parallels mainly because they featured different pictures, at least in the 1998 set....

Ahhh... the memories....

The Franchise inserts...

Was always a big fan of the Topps Gold Label "Race To..." inserts, both in football and baseball... just loved the layout and photos, at one point I had all the Red Label parallels of the football versions, not an easy feat considering the ultra low numbering of the Marino versions....

user posted image

I was also a huge fan of the Collector's Edge Timewarp inserts, which spanned many of their products in the mid nineties... they did an exceptional job of photoshopping back in the day.... laugh.gif

The Fleer Team Leaders inserts were a rack pack exclusive, and as rack packs were rare these ended up skyrocketing at one point. My brother and I (anybody remember Ron?) stumbled upon two full boxes of these rack packs clearanced at 50 cents a pack at a mom and pop drug store in a little town in Northern California, bought the whole kit and kaboodle and made a killing trading some of the inserts to local dealers.... I remember getting a host of future Hall of Famer rookie cards like Ronnie Lott, Lawrence Taylor, Ryne Sandberg and more... good times, good times...

Wasn't that the set with multiple rookie variations based on the numbering.  Guide doesn't list it as an SP that I have.  Could just be one of those things that wasn't popular enough to list.  My guide is old 1/2011 and it only lists the card at $12 bv.

Yes, I have four different rookie cards of him from that set. Loved the 1993 designed ones.... okay, at least it was listed in the Beckett with no notes so at the minimum it lets me know it was in the set.... just must be one of those flukes... thanks Brian....

Okay, dug out a 2088 Upper Deck SP Rookie Edition Premier Prospects rookie card of Joe Flacco, card # 330. I am unable to find another one for sale, either on COMC or Ebay. Were these super short printed or is this just a fluke? Any help would be appreciated....

I wish they would drop the hammer on these guys. Not a few game suspension, not a full year suspension, but rather YEARS.... that would make some of them think twice before breaking the law...
