Collector Zone _ News and Announcements _ TCC Community Advisory: Site Rules Updated

Posted by: RGBII Dec 10 2010, 02:45 PM

"TradingCardCentral.com is a family-oriented site, so please keep all posts to the forums clean and appropriate. Violations will result in the removal of your ability to post further messages to the TCC Collector Zone forums.

The TCC Collector Zone is a free discussion area for all members of the trading card hobby. The Collector Zone allows you to share your knowledge about the hobby in order to improve the overall quality, understanding and enjoyment of the hobby. There are discussion areas for all of the major sports, non-sports, autographs and other hobby-related information. In addition, there are areas to trade, buy and sell with other collectors.

We are not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message.

The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of Trading Card Central. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use the TCC Collector Zone to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law.

You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by Trading Card Central.

We reserve the right to modify or add to these guidelines as needed."

Each and everyone of us agreed to these standards when we became members of this site. They are readily available to any member by clicking the Guidelines topic in the blue banner at the top of the Forums.

The Collector Zone Team has been working on a concise, specific list of violations due to the inability of a select few members to interpret the quoted material above.
While none of us cherishes the role of "bad guy" or enforcer, the rules are here for the well-being of the entire community. They will be enforced.

1. We will not tolerate profanity of any kind. Acronyms are also included
in this category. If you post it and our filter catches it, you'll find the original
word/phrase/acronym replaced with #####. If you see this in your post
when you review it, I suggest that you edit it, quickly!
If our filter doesn't catch it, we will. There will be no warnings. There will
be a 24 hour suspension.

2. TCC does not allow the "calling out" of members. If you are posting in
anger, to ridicule or just general meanness in order to target a specific
member, your account will be suspended.

3. Update requests in Sale/Trade Agreements will be responded to in a timely manner. If you receive a request from a Team member, it not only goes to your mailbox here at TCC , it also goes to your personal email account. There is no excuse for not responding to a request within 48 hours. You will receive a warning from a Team member if you violate this simple request.

4. Please do not bump your threads within a twelve hour period.
If you choose to bump your thread after this 12 hour period, please
do it in a creative manner. TTT, bump and up are not considered creative
and will be deleted. We will simply delete the original post and send you
a warning.

5. Creating multiple topics (concerning the same items) in one Forum will come to an end. The same coverage can be achieved through a creative title and well-written description in one Sub-Forum. We will delete them all in the future and the author will receive a warning.

6. The requesting of Paypal Gift payments is a violation of TCC policy. Paypal has no safeguards in place in the event of non-payment/non-delivery of product for this payment method. The CZT will not moderate nor recognize any trade/sale agreement that involves a Paypal Gift payment.

7. Multiple warnings for the same infraction will involve suspension of that
members account for a period of 24 hours to 30 days. Multiple violations
of two or more rules will result in suspensions ranging from 7 to 30 days.

We reserve the right to modify or add to these guidelines as needed.

These rules and penalties are not open for debate. This announcement is for the general knowledge of all members regarding the sites guidelines.

The Collector Zone Team is a group of volunteers who give of their time to keep TCC running smoothly. If you receive a message from a member of this team regarding a previous action of yours, realize that team member is acting in the best interest of the site and doing his or her job by informing you of TCC's Rules and Guidelines. When responding, realize a great deal more can be accomplished via a calm discussion, than by anger or snarkiness. All of the members of this team are more than happy to listen to your side of the story, and take your comments into account. That includes sharing the information with the entire TCC Team so each Team Member can offer their opinion in the matter. However, dealing with Team Members in an aggressive or angry fashion will result in a suspension.

Ken,

I am no one's boss.

I am a collector, nothing more, nothing less. I simply
take it too seriously at times.

So much for self-analysis, what I mean to get across
here is this . . .

The next generation of collector is gonna need some
inspiration and aspiration(s). I see it as my duty to
make sure that they learn from our mistakes and/or
triumphs. That is my mission here.

The next generation will be knowledgeable and ready
to accept the "burdens" of the title Collector. They will
carry this hobby forward with the same lusts and fervor
that I have had the pleasure to be a slave to.

These rules and regulations are simply a roadmap
toward that goal, nothing more . . .

. . . nothing less.

BTW..

a little quid pro quo may be necesary to explain myself!

Sure the mention of randallcards image under snarkiness is humorous, it also casts a serious light on the "do's and dont's" of this site! Randallcards got banned from here and many other sites becuase he refused to act in accordance with the site guidelines.

And although Randallcards was a prolific trader he just couldnt stop the unnecesary actions that caused him to end up with a line thru his name!

SO...sometimes your "words" speak louder than your actions!

I would highly suggest some folks read the site rules... when a team member comes knocking at your door with a suspension, pleading ignorance is not an acceptable excuse....

Posted by: mjda Jan 29 2011, 11:29 AM

Maybe the rules in this thread should be moved to the "Guidelines" page. A link to that page should also be included in a welcome message to all new members when their account is approved. I mean, it's likely that some new members don't look at the News and Announcements forum so they never even know this set of rules exist. It's possible that they join and just get right to posting and trading.

Folks, I abhor bumping this thread.

I look forward to the day when it becomes
so stale and covered with dust that we can
remove it from existence.
