Collector Zone _ Feedback and Suggestions _ Use of single years in set descriptions

Posted by: snowblink Jan 21 2008, 04:10 PM

While this is easier for titling, what is the specification for a set using this single year criteria?

ie. does "1997-98 Pacific Omega" get put as "1997 Pacific Omega" or "1998 Pacific Omega".

I know for baseball and football these don't make for problems since their regular seasons fall in a calendar year, but I ask in that I noted some obvious errors in the hockey sets using this type of convention.

The database supports start and end year for every set. In fact, I've been properly using those fields when adding basketball and hockey sets over the last 4-5 days.

So, we'll certainly want to loop through the previously entered sets and update them to specify both a start and end year. wink.gif

Okay, good to know since that always helps with hockey releases.

If you http://www.openchecklist.com/oc_browse.php?pagetype=subject&subpage=setbrowse&subjectid=HCKY&pageos=29&startyear=1867&endyear=2010&subjectid=HCKY&pageos=28&startyear=1867&endyear=2010&subjectid=HCKY&pageos=27&startyear=1867&endyear=2010&subjectid=HCKY&pageos=28&startyear=1867&endyear=2010&subjectid=HCKY, you'll see that most or all of the newer sets have been entered using both a start and end year.
