The Mods at that great site said that I have to refer atleast 2 people, so if you could join this awesome site, cool.

Dont worry, this site is the greatest and I will never leave! smile.gif  smile.gif  smile.gif  smile.gif

ok now it is my turn to step in and defend that site. And I don't mind debating as I am a very active member here as well. First off, this is far from the truth. You are NEVER told you have to refer anyone. We have plenty of members who don't have any referrals. You are asked to refer people you feel comfortable trading with if you want to. No one says you have to. What you are also not telling members is that you benefit from referrals by getting points that can be spent in the store and are entered in a contest by signing up and referring.

QUOTE(ffman @ Nov 8 2006, 02:07 PM)
One comment - I don't like it.  I joined a little while ago, but......one of my least favorites due to the attitude of one mod there.
*

Please don't Judge us all by one bad apple wink.gif . I'm sure that can be said about all the trading sites out there by someone.

QUOTE(HOFerAutoCollector @ Nov 8 2006, 03:46 PM)
Any site that tells you that you HAVE to refer people isnt worth being at.
Sorry...another pathetic attempt at a trade site.
*

again your opinion is noted but as far as pathertic attempt I would say we are doing fairly well over there considering in 4 months we have pretty much moved up the ranks to one of the Top sites. And as stated before he didn't have his facts straight

QUOTE(dd316 @ Nov 8 2006, 03:48 PM)
Yeah, who MAKES you refer people? That's pretty silly. Doesn't sound like they'll last long.
*

See above. Do not bash us because he made a false statement

QUOTE(HOFerAutoCollector @ Nov 8 2006, 03:55 PM)
Whats the need to constantly fall into joining these silly little sites?
*

Remember folks TCC started as a silly little site and look at it now!!!

QUOTE(ffman @ Nov 8 2006, 05:28 PM)
I think SCF has been around for a little while, but I don't know how.
*

Great members, hard on bad traders, friendly community, and a great staff. Thats how. Plus I help run things smile.gif so that automaticaly makes us good wink.gif

QUOTE(bob_TCC @ Nov 8 2006, 07:02 PM)
It's pretty obvious that you're leaving out part of the story.

Why exactly do you need to refer 2 members to another site?  Are you trying to become part of a team there?  Are you trying to win a prize there?  unsure.gif

Thanks bob. Bob is a member of our site and I actually personally work with him as the go between to keep bad traders out of our trading community. This is why I love this site as well as SCFreaks. As Bob stated you guys weren't told the whole story so please find out the facts before bashing.

QUOTE(bob_TCC @ Nov 9 2006, 10:30 AM)
By the way, that statement is inaccurate.  They advertise through Google AdWords - just like TCC.  In fact, their ads are often displayed on this site - including ones that they specifically are saying should be displayed here through a site-targetting feature.

-Bob
*

That is correct. SCfreaks advertises through google and yahoo. Personally I don't ever recall being told that they don't advertise so I don't know where NGWH is getting that.

QUOTE(NGWH Sports Cards @ Nov 9 2006, 11:34 AM)
Sorry Bob, they said they dont advirtize. Arent you a member there>?
*

Where is that said?

I understand everyone is entitled to their opinion and I agree, the right to post that opinion is unique to TCC. But for NGWH to praise the site and now join in it's bashing does not sit well in my mind. Would you guys want him here if he was on our site bashing TCC??? I doubt it

Yes, the Seal of Approval forum has never worked as originally planned. laugh.gif

Originally, the idea was that collectors would simply mention trading card businesses, web sites, etc. that they personally have experience with and want to recommend.

Instead, it's mainly been used as a way for some to promote their own businesses and sites (normally in a less-than-entirely open manner) or for others to try to get rewards for their recommendations (normally obvious since the recommendation doesn't include any real "meat" about what they like, etc.).

I thought it was a good idea anyways... laugh.gif

True...I shouldn't base my opinoin on one person. I guess my comments are partly biased, as I prefer TCC. I've never spent enough time on other sites to get a fair judgement of how they are....except for Beckett and SCF, which are just too large for my liking.

It's a great idea and one of my favorite features of this site when used correctly it is a unique part of TCC that no other site has

I won't hold it against ya wink.gif I personally enjoy both site equally. I do alot of business on both and find the members on both to be nice to chat with. I also agree about beckett being too large to keep track of who you are dealing with.

The only place other than TCC I've even came close to making a trade on was The Bench. I declined that offer, and I'm kind of glad I did.....I think the card I would have been trading could be used here after all.
