The only products released are the college themed products which I always try to stay away from. I was hoping to have Prestige in the mix but Blowout now shows them as May 25th so we'll have to add that for next month.

I would have to agree with you, that this is the best group out there.
What makes a great group, besides a top notch host, is the members in the group. And you sir, are on top of that list.

Still a few payments to receive. If by Friday I haven't received them we'll have to look for new takers. I am confidant all will pay but need to be ready since the break is Saturday. So far I have back ups for;

Quite a few members of the High End group suggested we take a break and not hold a High End break in June. I am fine either way but since we have alot of repeat members I thought I'd pose the same question here.

Do folks prefer to take a month off or hold the break as usual in late June?

I'll put this note in a few places but wanted to check on the interest for trying to get together at this years National Card Convention? I tried to get things going last year but couldn't garner enough takers so I thought I'd try again.

This years National Show will be in Rosemont (just outside Chicago) August 4-7. We all talk about how we love the hobby not just for the cards but for the people we're in it with. I believe that's true but after doing these group breaks with many of the same folks for almost 4 years I still haven't met a single one of you! With the big show in the midwest this year I figure let's give it a shot to see if we can get at least 5-6 of us together to do what we love?

What I would like to propose is that if we can get another 5 people to commit to going and meeting up at the Show, I say we do the break live right there on the floor or maybe one of those nights. In fact, I would even recommend making it a bigger break than normal by still collecting July fees as well as the August fees and have a double break to cover both months at the show on Aug 6th. I would recommend the same for our High End break so we'd have an awesome lineup of products to rip between the two groups and you can walk away with your cards that night. We could even have our very own "rip girl" in Britt! Other TCC members would be welcome to join us for some good rippage even if they aren't in the break itself and the beverages could be flowing freely the whole time!

So...I realize this is impossible for some of you but I can already think of 3-4 guys that are in the Illinois area so if you all step up we're off to a good start. Perhaps we could take in a Cubs or Sox game if they're in town as it sounds like Chicago is just a half hour or so away?

We're only 8 weeks away so if I'm going to commit to this I'll need some firm commitments from you guys fairly quickly. So can we make this happen instead of just talking about it each year??

So close, and yet so far. It sounds like it would be a blast and I would love the chance to join up for the live break, but I will be in Cleveland and Canton that weekend attending the NFL HOF induction ceremonies for Marshall Faulk. My schedule and budget just won't allow me the opportunity to sneak away to Chicago, even though I'll only be about a 5 hours drive away.

I hope you are able to pull it off....it would be fun seeing pics of some of the cardboard debauchery that would take place at the convention. Good luck!!

Chris- Any particular day you had in mind to go to the show? I assume the weekends will work better for everyone, but the weekdays will be less crowded. I wouldn't want to go more than one day. Count me as a tentative in...especially if you pick Thursday, Friday or Saturday.

Me and the wife had already been planning on going out for Kurt Warner's induction when he gets in about 5 years from now. Then my parents moved to Cleveland area last year to be near my sister, so the Marshall induction was the perfect excuse to go visit. I'm taking the whole family to the ceremonies...looking forward to it. And the Hall of Fame is incredible....it should be high on everyone's list of places to visit.

I agree. I grew up just about 15 miles away so we would go every year (never made it to an induction oddly enough but would visit the Hall at least yearly). Now that I've moved away I haven't been back in about 20 years so it's on my list. Maybe when the boys get old enough to appreciate seeing Jim Browns jock strap.

As for the National, very cool Want2bet that you'll be running a table. What kind of stuff do you specialize in? We'll count you in for sure as more and more I'm leaning towards the actual break (if we do this) to be after hours so we don't take any show time away from folks and to allow for an adult beverage or two to be part of the festivities.

Ed, as for the timing of it, after looking at the different packages I will probably not do a VIP package as the main draw is the autographs and I'm not a big IP auto collector so I'll probably focus on 2 days of the show so maybe Friday and Saturday with the break being whichever day we can gather the most folks.

Again, I talk about this as if it's happening but I need commitment from at least 5 others which would make a minimum of 6. So far we have BajMurray, Want2bet, and Faulkrules. Who else can make it??

I went for the first time 2 years ago, and from what I understand, they have done massive expansions in the last 20 years, plus, they are currently working on their biggest expansion yet. Give your boys a couple more years, and it will definitely be time for you to make another pilgrimage to the NFL Holy Land.

Nothing too serious but enough that I need to make that call.
