Collector Zone _ Basketball _ Seriously NBA players need to really grow up.

Posted by: baseballguy601 Nov 13 2008, 12:24 AM

Did anyone just see the stupid brawl during the Phoenix-Houston game on ESPN? This is completely stupid and a waste of my time to watch. Seriously. Play the game and if you want to fight, take it to the street.

The end.

no what happened? who was it?

Posted by: baseballguy601 Nov 13 2008, 12:30 AM

I forget but 2 guys got suspended. And Steve Nash made a sick 3 from beyond half court to end the 3rd quarter!

mcgrady was the most childish, barnes started the fight with alston yet he tried to start something with nash for no reason. they started to scuffle nash walked over to them and mcgrady grabbed him and threw him to the ground. after that everybody got into a shoving match.

That's not EXACTLY how it went. He went over to Barnes and Barnes and Alston were all picking a fight. Nash tried to get involved and all McGrady did was push Nash back.

Meh not that big of a deal to me. If people made half the stink over hockey brawls that they do over a basketball shoving match, hockey would be abolished by now. I smell a double standard...

The only thing I want to add is......
McGrady is a punk and Shaq is always good for a laugh.

Peace

I'm laughing at the fact that people are blaming McGrady for this. That's a joke.

No one blames McGrady. But pushing someone half your size to the ground gets no respect in my book. Thats bully/punk move. Period.

I like McGrady. I think he's one the best in the league at his position but that doesnt erase the stunt he pulled.

Did Nash touch McGrady?

Posted by: baseballguy601 Nov 13 2008, 12:08 PM

No but Nash stating getting in the middle of things trying to start something.

So that gave the McGrady the right to push Nash down?
Is that something you would teach your child?

Posted by: baseballguy601 Nov 13 2008, 12:49 PM

I wouldn't teach my child anything these players do, but that's besides the point.

You wouldnt teach your kids........... But you just justified McGrady's actions.
I see, very ironic.

Um....don't you do things you wouldn't want your children to do?

No.
The " Do as I say and Not as I do" does not work anymore.
I lead by example.

Ben Frank once said. "Well Done" is better than saying "Well Said"

Then dont.

Ill be honest.

a lot of NBA's players actions on and OFF the court have turned me away from watching a sport I once loved more than any , as far as watching it on the tube. I never remember missing a televised playoff game and I used to play hookey from work on the opening days of the NCAA tourney.. but those days have past!

The drug busts, the aggravated assaults, the pettiness on the court, the showboating on the court, It isnt a game anymore. Or at least the game i was taught!

What it has become is 1 on 1 with 8 other guys watching !

There is travelling on every play, there is hacking on every play, there is too much physicality on every play. The refs were told to put their whistles away and they havent brought them back out!

They cant shoot "lights out " any longer, they set behind the 3 point line and wait for the ball and either throw it up or wait for a defender to come out so they can "face" them with some lethargic move to the basket only to be hacked 56 times on the way there without a foul being called and or carrying the ball for 3-4 steps!

Fighting happens in all sports, baseball, football, hockey it doesnt matter emotion and anger , a will to win, competitiveness will bring fighting to the table every time!

The NBA should worry more about what the game has evolved into and forego punishing the passion of some players!

Very well said Steve!
I agree, although I admit it is still my favorite sport.

Peace
Jeremy

So your kids are allowed to watch everything you watch on TV, and they are allowed to stay up until you go to sleep. If they do, it would be the first time I've ever seen that before. wink.gif

I agree with everything you said except this.

It may be somewhat of a 1 on 1 show, but the Dynasties of the past 10 years (Spurs,Pistons) are very quick to show that in the NBA, 1 on 1 shows don't win.

#1
I do not watch alot of television.
So to answer your question yes.

#2
What time children go to sleep compared to what time the parents go to sleep is not a good example of "Do as I say and not as I do".

#3
I do not even know why I am having this conversation with you. Feel free to think and believe what you may. Please, do not not let me or anyone else sway you. Come to your own conclusions and make your own personal philosophy about life. Subscribe to no ones ideology. Make your own.

Did Shaq not also push someone ''half his size''?

Posted by: scott0326 Nov 20 2008, 12:13 PM
