Here's the start of the story on SI.com...

QUOTE
LONDON (AP) -- David Beckham agreed to a five-year deal with the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer, leaving the Real Madrid club at which he enjoyed worldwide popularity but experienced disappointment on the field.

Beckham, the former English captain who also starred for Manchester United, will join the Galaxy after his contract with Real Madrid expires on June 30. Los Angeles opens its season April 8 in Houston.

So, will this bring new life to Upper Deck's soccer products?

I don't think Ronaldinho would go to USA to play; sorry but going there is like retiring from high competition and go to earn money.

yeah exactly. Beckham doesnt care about playing soccer and being a mediocre player. He is in the US to be the best player and to make alot of money.

I don't think Beckham wants to be the best player; some TV program said that if Beckham manages to put himself in the USA market, he could earn 100 million, so there you have the reason why he's there..

I heard that, even though he didn't play, 250,000 tshirts with his name have been ordered; is that true?

There was a nice interview with him at half-time of the MLS all star game. He's going to LA where everyone in Hollywood loves him. Go Galaxy!

He won't; he'll play a few minutes just to show himself to the fans, who will most likely go there just to see him play.

The game tonight was such a joke. It wasnt soccer it was like an award show type of thing. The Crowd stands up when he starts stretching in the middle of the game. I know it was an Exhibition game but there was no seriousness put into this game. Beckham is in America just for the 250,000,000$ he will be making i the next 5 years. And the Galaxy signed him just so ticket sales will go up. The thing about how this will change soccer in America is BS. No one can make the MLS popular. The MLS is a joke.
