Folks, I apologize for letting this thread lie dormant as long as it has, but will try to make that right starting now!
This contest will require the contestants to come up with the best, most original and interesting idea for the next contest in this thread.
Here are the rules:
The contest idea will be posted in this thread.
Must have a concise, well-written set of rules and judgement criteria (i.e., judged by the originator of the contest, random.org or a third party judge(s), etc.).
Unlike most of the contests that Shawn and I have hosted here, this one is gonna be judged in a very undemocratic fashion.
Shawn (sasports) and I will be the only judges involved in picking a winner.
The criteria we will focus on are these:
Originality, conceived member interest, involvement, and accessibility to any and all members.
Oh, I almost forgot the prize!
How about 25 lbs. of Baseball cards?
There will be a lot of commons but I will also include some surprises in the batch. There will be the occasional autograph, game-used, vintage and inserts to make the task worth your while.
I'm gonna let this run for 10 days. Deadline for entries is Monday, April 25 12:00 pm EST.
Hope y'all enjoy and let's get some entries in here.

With the Nba playoffs just about to get started, I think it would be fun to do a contest revolving around that. I realize with the time table you set for this to go, we wouldnt be able to include the first round. So... Starting in the 2nd round of the NBA playoffs, the contest would look like this:
Rules: -You must correctly guess the winner of each series(East and West) -You get extra points for correctly guessing how many games they win it in Scoring goes as follows -Guess correct # of games it takes team to win series =2 points, 1 game away= 1 point.
So for each playoff series you could earn up to 3 points.
EXAMPLE: If I picked the Pacers to beat the Bulls in 6 games, and they beat the bulls in 7 games, I would get 1 point for correctly picking the Pacers, and 1 for being only one game away. If the Pacers swept the bulls, I would only get 1 point because it was more than 1 game away.
Person with the most points at the end wins. 2nd round-NBA finals.
Hope this makes sense.
Joe

Ok, here is my idea........and i call it TCC's Spellcheck Using ONLY cards with an athlete/star (which will eliminate using "letter" cards) you spell out a word. Make it a word of your favorite team, player, color, hobby, basically anything you can think of and be creative. However; the idea is to jumble up the cards/letters and only give us a clue and word count in order to try and figure out the word. Rules: -You must form a word ONLY utilizing the first letter of the first OR last name -It must be a card from your collection Here is an example: My clue is - this is my LEAST favorite animal. (three letters) I show three cards of baseball players Jim Thome, Alex Rodriquez, and Armani Rodriquez. JTARAR.......and after using the letters to try and form a three letter word you come up with......RAT!!!! This allows people of every kind of collecting interest to participate and people can really get creative. Let's say you want to put my favorite color is purple.....you can use players names that spell out purple but ALSO show them in PURPLE uniforms. or I like girls with long hair. You can show players that spell out long hair AND who also have long hair themselves. This contest will also open up the possibility for multiple prizes........most creative word, hardest word to figure out, most disgusting word, etc. Thanks, Charles

I may want to enter, could I do the Gettysburg Address?
Only half-kidding, that would be a cool one to pull off.
Thanks for the entry.

Collect Hard!, RGBII[/b][/font] That would be a cool, hard, and interesting word. You could select people who were born in that state and have a beard like Abe Lincoln I was thinking about using the word Sooners and then showing players from the GREATEST COLLEGIATE PROGRAM IN THE NCAA (my clue)
