Thinking of joining a Group Break?

Some things to think about if you are thinking of joining a group break, some hints/tips and things to think about.

You may not get much for your money- It is a risk or gamble so to speak. Not everyone will get a "hit", and depending on boxes broke may not get much for base or any at all (I have had one where I didn't get anything for that month for $15 spot). If you can't afford to lose the money, it is better off not to play (applies to gambling and other "habits" in life too).

Do some research of your own- Are you familiar with the member doing the Break? Do they have an established trading record on TCC or are have they joined the Site very recently? You can review their transactions, or PM folks that have been in their breaks or traded with them, and ask about the person and how things went. That way you have a basis on how well this break will go, and give you a gut feeling if any "red flags" are coming up. Also make sure the numbers add up to something you feel is reasonable for fees/shipping/supplies, as one doesn't want to feel like you are buying their spot or they are making a profit on the break.

If you post that you are in break, you need to be in break- Unless something drastic happens in life, if you say you are in you are being counted on being in. Don't just sign up for any break that comes along without having the ability to be in that break.

Group breaks can be fun as you get to know some members in the group, and it can lead to trading. Also for the price of a few packs you get a chance at hits from multiple boxes, or a chance at a "big hit". Just remember it is a chance and is same as buying a box on your own, your hit can be a "nobody who isn't even on a team roster", and unless you collect that player an AU from someone who hasn't made a team yet is not too exciting. Just remember to keep things in check, just like the hobby, as one can get caught up in it and spend more than you can really afford and pay for it at a later date (trust me it happens to most folks at least once in their life, I know this from experience myself).

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Being skeptical had to come from somewhere.
