I cannot beleive there are 287 cards in the set, and only 130 in the base and legends subset, that means 147 rookies, that means lots of junk. I think they were planning on three a box, so that means not good odds for a great player.

there are 90 auto rookies with the rest being non auto scrubs /1999 and you get 1 auto rookie per box

soooooo that means you got a 1 in 90 shot at crosby or ovechkin
or roughly 1 in every 7.5 cases sweeeet

from what i understand bobby orr doesn't sign for UD and is ITG exclusive

They are only limiting distrubuters and not UD direct customers. So shop owners will get their goods and not their orders halved.
But yeah the whole 2 wave thing stinks like a dead fish.
If someone wants to buy 2 boxes they will buy 2 boxes from the first batch not 1 from the first and wait a month for a second box.

With roughly 8K cases being produced that means at least 4K are coming out Weds so umm there is no shortage of boxes by no means.

This just sucks. I was thinking of building with this set and then I read it's not gonna be that good? I guess I get the box I ordered on the 15th maybe.

Not a good start for my 1st potential set build for 2006.

Maybe I'll get lucky during the box break.

...another ITG box for me it looks like.

If you want to build a set do either UD or Fleer Ultra. These sets are going to be impossible to complete.

FIND 1 SIGNED ROOKIE CARD IN EACH BOXON AVERAGE!
GRAB FUTURE WATCH AUTOGRAPHED ROOKIE PATCH CARDS, AVERAGING 1 PER CASE!

that's the key though only one of the auto rookies per box
they can fill them with as many of the crud non auto rookies and state 3-4-5 rookies per box but only one of them will be the auto

spa will be a tougher break then spx was because of the production run even though there are twice as many crosby and ovy's to be had it will still be super tough to hit one

What happened to the good ol days when SPA was around 150 cards and was completable. . .

Oh yeah someone got a monopoly and decided to maximize its profit margins by doubling the set size and filling it with scrubs.

well lets see

there are 4 octograph cards with a print run of 3 each for a grand total of 12 cards
so lets assume there are 8000 cases that's a whopping 96,000 boxes

each is supposed to contain 1 rookie auto and 1 other auto (single, dual, triple, etc)
so the odds of pulling the octo are

12:96000 or 1:8,000 boxes or 1 in every 666 cases hahah sounds kind of evil too me laugh.gif laugh.gif

I know I wont be buying any of this. Normally, id buy a few packs, but SPA is the WORST product by the pack. 24 packs with 5 hits.

All of UD highend products like Sweet Spot/Shot, SPA are bad buys for the price of packs and number of hits per box. Once the hit is gone you are buying nothing but dead air.

Sweetspot has 3-4 hits per box, and only out of 12. I did one pack and pulled a Sweet Patch of George Brett. I guess in the football it was so obvious which packs had the hits that my dealer didnt sell it by the pack.
