Collector Zone _ Ask the Experts _ Perhaps this isn't the right forum...

Perhaps this isn't the right forum for this, but I'll throw it out there and if I need to ask this in a different forum just let me know. I haven't collected cards in awhile and so I haven't been on this site in awhile, but I have a question about something I found at a thrift store that I can't find much information about anywhere, and I'm just hoping someone here may be able to help me out! Last time I was on the site, everyone seemed very helpful so I'm just gonna throw this out there!

Anywho, here's what I got. I found three sealed Beatles records, all of which are imports. The first is "Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band," catalog number PCS7027. Based on this number, I believe it was pressed in England. The second is "Yea! Yea! Yea!" (SLEM 008). The third is "Yesterday and Today" (SLEM 051). The last two both say "Hecho en Mexico." Does anyone out there collect records and can help me out with what these might be worth? I bought them for my personal collection but if they're worth some decent money I am thinking about selling them.

Again, I'm sorry if this is not the place for this topic, but I'll be happy to ask somewhere else if someone could suggest a place for me! I'm at a complete loss right now! Thank you so much!

Sounds interesting, Beatles fan long time here as well as at least a couple more here at TCC.

Not sure where to send you but my favorite places to find oddball stuff & get an estimated value is E-Bay & Google always has info on everything just have to word it correctly. Good luck in the search & please report back as I for one am interested.

I've checked Google, but am not having a lot of luck. I've seen unsealed copies of Yesterday and Today with the same catalog number go for $35-50, and I saw someone asking $200 for it, so I'm really curious what I have!

If you have Ebay search completed listings.

Here's one with that number:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&hash=item3f167ae3ac&item=270960092076&nma=true&pt=UK_Records&rt=nc&si=ny2dKxgm43ZA3HSKckIC2xIiNIw%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

That one sold for over $300. Looks like you may have scored well there wink.gif

Edit ok that was stereo version.

Mono:

So quite the range there laugh.gif so hard to say.

Ah yes, I've seen that one. I'm not positive, but I think mine was a different pressing than that one. Mine has a sticker on the front that says "The Beatles Are Coming 1963-1973," which I assume means mine is from the third pressing which was in 1973. The one on that auction, I THINK, was from the first pressing. Thanks for the help though!

Great taste in teams you've got, by the way!

EDIT:

As for mono and stereo, mine is stereo. The mono ones will have PCM or something like that instead of PCS for the catalog number. Some of the mono pressings are actually worth more somehow!

hey brother.

yesterday and today was the butcher sleeve and if yours has a sticker over the original cover its worth a fortune.

sgt peppers was pressed at emi and has a emi label as well as a capital label. there is also variants on the vinyl color but those are extremely rare and came from a british box set released in conjunction with the red and blue albums in America.

have no ide awhat yea yea yea is. not a capitol or emi release

Yea Yea Yea, from what I understand, only came out in Mexico. It also says "Vol. 4" on the sleeve. It's from EMI CAPITOL DE MEXICO. The only sticker on the "Yesterday and Today" album is a blue one that says "HECHO EN MEXICO MADE IN MEXICO." Unfortunately, I can't find a date anywhere on it.

I have no clue and there are so many variants with albums that what looks like a $300 album, could be a $0.50 album. I would get out the phone book and see if there are any record shops in your area. I know locally here in Pittsburgh, there are several that deal in old/rare albums. You might want to see what you can find that way.
