I found this interesting information in a sidebar to an article on SI.com:

"The NHL Players' Association recently signed a five-year, $25 million deal with Upper Deck to manufacture trading cards. That works out to an annual check of about $6,000 per player for the rights to use their image on gum cards."

WOW! That is OK, ITG is still going to do their thing and maybe the NHL will see what a bad decision it was to limit to one manufacturer. As for UD smart move, they are not making the same mistake fleer made, by paying huge sums for one player.

ITG's latest email stated St. Patrick would be included in the Heroes and Prospects set coming out in November, so that might be enough to keep die-hard fans like me interested in the product. Not real interested in their latest Superbox of Tough Guys, though.
