After seeing the "non-event" in NYC on the 13th (they were actually balloons), I've been doing some research and talking a bit with my mother about things.

Do you believe in aliens?

Thanks to personal experiences within my family, I don't doubt they exist. Here's a little story about my mother's experience:

Around 30 years ago, my mother, now deceased aunt and father, and adopted older sister were awoken at around 3 AM. It sounded, my mother said, like a junk car driving up the driveaway. They stepped outside to see, but saw something very different.

Above the neighbor's treetops, around 60-80 feet in the air, a round disc-shaped object was hovering. On its "bottom" were four square-shaped white lights. It hovered for 5-10 seconds, and shot off to the east. Based on the sound it made coming in, my mother said it came from the west.

She lived (and still does live) near Fort Campbell in south-central Kentucky. As a result, she called the radio station to see if any military exercises had been planned that night. None had been planned. My father was an ex-Green Beret and said he had no clue what it was.

They absolutely positievly exist.

The universe is entirely too big for us to be the only intelligent life anywhere in it. Have we been visited, I'm not sure but I'm not ruling it out either.

I agree that with the universe being as big as it is there has to be other intelligent life in it. As to the visitations? Not sure.

There is one factor that scientists like to bring up and that is the distance/speed/travel time in relation to other stars/worlds in our galaxy and the universe. That is where wormholes and bending light/space come into play yadda yadda yadda.

So basically for other intelligent life to have visited us they have to have traveled great distances, and be much more highly advanced than we are to make those trips within a short period of time, or their lifespans are many times greater than ours.

So travel time and distance aside I think we might be treated by the other life in much the same way we treat the underdeveloped tribes in the Amazon and other areas where tribes of people have had little or no contact with the modern technology driven world. Maybe there are some interstellar laws warning about visiting or traveling by Sol/Terra/Earth.

Ditto... I don't know how intelligent or if 'they' are visiting, but there has GOT to be something else out there... there are literally BILLIONS and BILLIONS of stars, with even more objects orbiting them... it's unfathomable.

I agree that there is more intelligent life, but for them to visit us would be next to impossible. First, they have to figure out a way to travel faster than the speed of light, which according to our current understanding of the universe, is impossible. Then, the odds of them stumbling across our planet are astronomical. There could be an infinite number of stars and planets in the universe, so for them to find us would truly be a miracle.

Do I believe life exist? Abosolutely.. Like others have said, I find it hard to believe we are IT in this universe.

Have we been visited? I am not sure either way on this one. could it have happened? sure. just because our theories in travel, light, space etc tell us it cannot be does not mean something else has not figured it out. I swear my GF mother is one...

I do believe that there are other beings out there, I can't say for sure if they have visited here or not, but I am not going to rule anything out.
